Southwest Airlines makes emergency stop after passengers get unruly
SOUTH CAROLINA -- A Southwest Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing because of some unruly passengers.
The flight was headed from Orlando, Florida to Providence, Rhode Island last night.
Authorities say three passengers became disruptive.
The pilot made an emergency stop in South Carolina and federal agents removed the passengers from the plane.
The flight arrived safely in Rhode Island early this morning.
Another passenger described what happened.
"The chief of police told us that there was suspicious activity with a few members on the plane. They were taken care of. If you want to leave, we'll pay for your stay, but at the end of the day we just want to get you there safe and make sure everything's okay."
A spokesperson from Southwest Airlines said there was a misunderstanding over the storage of some luggage.
No charges have been filed and no one was hurt.
