'The Voices of Pensacola' to open in September 2014

PENSACOLA   --  Pensacola's diverse cultural history will be on display at a New Resource Center downtown.

The Beacon Building on Church Street will be home to "The Voices of Pensacola."
It will include audio-visual exhibits on the different cultural groups that shaped the city's history.

They'll also have a stage for storytelling and music performances.
It's a museum that's less about artifacts and more about people.

Bentina Terry, Gulf Power: "The people and the cultures, and how they make this community so wonderful and this is really about how they came together, all of those individual voices, signifying individual communities to create this chorus that's now Pensacola."

Gulf Power and Southern Company donated 605,000 dollars to develop the center.
It's expected to open in September 2014.
