Gulf Breeze Middle's science team places second in state

GULF BREEZE, Fla. -- Gulf Breeze Middle School has reason to celebrate. The school's science team called 'Olympiad' placed second out of all the public middle schools statewide in competitions.

The students created various gadgets and gismos that took as long as 7 months to build.

There was a helicopter that can reach about 50 feet in the air and cars made out of mouse traps.

"It's great our small community is able to represent the science field," said Nina Stoviski. "It makes me feel happy that our local community is doing good at the state level, and we're being recognized and we're not falling behind in science and other educational activities."

Many local schools competed but Gulf Breeze Middle School's science team was the only one in our area to go all the way to state and place. Congratulations!
