Pensacola car chase puts schools on lockdown

ESCAMBIA CO., Fla. -- A high speed chase through Pensacola that caused school lockdowns ended with the suspect losing control of his vehicle.

Escambia County deputies went out to the Village Mobile Home Park on Pensacola Boulevard in response to an aggravated stalking suspect call. The suspect, Ellis Roy Clark, 33, was also wanted in relation to a number of drive-by shootings.

When Clark noticed the officers arriving to the mobile home park, he fled in his vehicle. Clark was chased down to Long Leaf Drive where he lost control and came to a stop. He was immediately taken into custody.

Neither Clark or any officers were injured in the course of the pursuit.

During the chase, West Florida High School, Pine Forest High School and Long Leaf Elementary schools were placed on lockdown. They have since re-opened.
