Navy's Response to Blue Angels at private airshows

Statement from the Navy concerning the possibility of the Blue Angels performing at private airshows:

The Navy has canceled the Blue Angels 2013 season. Weeks of continual preparation and training are required for the Blue Angels to perform an air show.
It is not possible for them to perform at only selected air shows on varying dates due to the continuity of practice that is required.
As a result of the cancellation of the Blue Angels season, the team is not conducting flight training at a level necessary to perform an air show. It is the Navy's position that private funding for a Blue Angels performance is not a realistic option.
