Former Mobile commissioner Steve Nodine speaks out

Former Mobile County commissioner Steven Nodine is speaking out.
He was accused of killing his girlfriend Angel Downs back in May 2010.  It was a sensational case with plenty of twists and turns including a mistrial with a hung jury.
   
And then as the court prepared for a retrial. He ended up pleading guilty to domestic violence harassment and perjury charges resulting in a much lighter sentence.

We talked for about an hour. We talked about what happened that day, .how he's been coping in jail and what's next for him.
   
Steve Nodine was given a 2 year sentence for the domestic violence harassment and perjury charges.
   
He spends every night and weekend at the Baldwin County Jail during the day, he works at a law office across the street. 
   
He is speaking out now because he says he was politically persecuted he feels the prosecution hid evidence showing that it was a suicide not murder.
   
While he maintains his innocence in the shooting, he does admit to not being the "best" guy...

Yes I was wrong in my personal life, I made a ton of horrible mistakes I'm responsible for those.I think once the facts were on the table and within three days they knew it was self inflicted same responsibility of my innocence as my guilt. They totally got out of line with that..

Nodine is expected to be released Oct 2014.
