Firefighters worked for hours to contain a wildfire burning in northern Escambia Co.
The fire began as a control burn that jumped the lines and burned 40 acres outside of the original controlled burn area.
The fire burned an area south of Nomokis Rd. in Walnut Hill; just east of Jakes Rd.
Use caution if you encounter smoke while driving in this area.
