BALDWIN COUNTY -- It's the final link in an expressway from Interstate 10 to the beaches of Baldwin County.
Crews broke ground today for an interchange connecting the interstate to the Baldwin Beach Express.
The new exit won't open until 2014.
Alabama's Transportation director says, once it's finished the expressway will help lighten traffic congestion in other areas and it will serve as an evacuation route, when needed.
