Gulf Breeze Zoo Celebrates First World Giraffe Day

GULF BREEZE, Fla. -- The Gulf Breeze Zoo is celebrating the first World Giraffe Day.

It is doing it along with other zoos, schools and conservation groups all over the world.

According to zoo staff, giraffes are one of the best recognized animals
but they're not studied as much as the other large African animals.

The giraffe population has also dropped 40-percentt since the 1990s.

To Celebrate, Gulf Breeze Zoo officials will have a special meet-a-keeper giraffe talk at noon on Saturday.

You can also watch them feed the baby giraffe then.

There's also going to be a party at the Giraffeteria Restaurant from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
