FDLE Chemist released from jail on bond

ESCAMBIA COUNTY  --  His alleged actions have lead to a state wide review of thousands of drug cases.
Now, recently released documents show former Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Lab Chemist Joseph Graves told investigators he had problems with his back and knew he was in trouble when confronted about the missing pills.

Graves is charged with grand theft, tampering with evidence and illegal drug trafficking.
He was released from the Escambia County Jail late Tuesday on a 290,000 dollar bond.

The investigation began when the Escambia County Sheriff's Office discovered prescription pain pills were missing from its evidence room.

The agency is now reviewing nearly 2600 cases Graves handled throughout the state dating back to 2006.
