  • Victims identified in Baldwin County plane crash

    Two bodies have been found in the wreckage of a plane crash in Baldwin County, AL. They are identified as 67 year old Dean Legidakes and 15 year old Marli McManus.

Angels in our Midst (Thank You)

Last week, thousands of children got to share in the joy of Christmas because of a caring and giving community. We want to take a moment tonight to just say, thank you,

Sandy Sansing, Communities Caring at Christmas sponsor;  "We've got a check for $10,000, we'll spend it at Walmart and get you started..... Helping kids at Christmas."

And his family foundation would and another $5000 to that. The 34th communities caring at Christmas campaign was underway.

The elves at Gulf Power company reached into their own pockets to  make sure the holiday was bright for hundreds of children.  A lot of boys and girls who've never owned a bicycle, were riding high Christmas morning.

We received a very generous and surprise gift from the law offices of J.J. Talbott.

Members of I-M local 2460 at Armstrong World Industries were faithful in manning their roadblock at the plant entrance to collect donations.  The employees said business has been good for them this year and they were happy to share with those less fortunate.

Sharing their own blessings was a resounding theme coming from the employees of a number of companies.

The north end angels at Ascend Performance Materials gave their all to fulfill the wishes for 92 children in foster care on the communities caring list.

From the Waterfront came a gift from the Port of Pensacola Users Association.

Our radio partners echoed our call for support ... Cat Country and News Radio 1620... WXBM and Soft Rock 94.1.

A very special lady, Jennifer Smith-Davis, purchased clothing for hundreds of little ones in honor of her own children.

Giving was from the heart from the J. H. Baroco foundation. Donations came from Navy Federal Credit Union, cornerstone facilities engineering, our tried and true friend, historian John Appleyard and the employees of the Appleyard Agency.

Premier Island Management's 5k turkey trot on Thanksgiving day was a big success and we give thanks for their gift to communities caring.

 We are grateful to the congregations of Greater First Baptist-Cantonment and Friendship Missionary Baptist Churches, the management of Coastal Moving and Storage and the Florida State Employees Credit Union.

 Thank you to our great partners at Walmart on Mobile Highway, Haverty's Furniture, the management of Uncle Bob's Storage, the Frenkels at Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds, and our littlest angels, Prosser and Katie-John Crow.

To all who gave from your hearts to bless thousands of children with the joy of Christmas, we thank you.

  To our tireless volunteers, the elves who assembled all the gifts for delivery... We thank you.

   And especially to our sweetest angel who taught us all many lessons about giving from the heart ...  We miss you, my friend.
