FLORIDA - A push for the automatic restoration of civil rights for former felons is underway in Florida.

Last year Governor Charlie Crist passed a measure allowing non-violent felons to have their civil rights automatically restored.

More serious offenders still have to ask the Clemency Board to restore their rights.

Civil liberties groups are asking the governor to *abolish rules that require board approval... Before former felons can receive business licenses.

Governor Crist has been adamant about changing the process, but Attorney General Bill Mccollum says there should be a mandatory wait time of at least 5 years before serious offenders can hold a state issued business license.Felons Rights Restoration
