• ANGELS IN OUR MIDST
When a child is born with a disability or a medical problem, there is a grieving process that many parents go through.

One local mother stepped outside of her own pain to bring comfort to others.
She became an Angel in their Midst.

Angela Dunn, Down Syndrome Support Organizer; When I had the baby, I was scared and I was crying and my mom walked in and I said, What do I do? She said, He's a baby first and he just has Down Syndrome.

Angela Dunn took her mother's advice. Not only did she learn to care for her own special child, she started a support group to help other parents do the same.

Angela; They're going to go through the terrible twos but they might do it at three or four. They're going to walk but they might walk at five or six.

Brad Foster; She calls you. She laughs with you. She understands your tears. You know, when you have a child with problems, there's a lot of days with tears, a lot of days with no sleep.

Angela understands the things that can bring that heartache.

Angela; People staring at him because they don't understand what Down Syndrome is. So, I literally walk around with pamphlets in my purse and I hand them out to people if they stare at my baby.

To raise money for pamphlets and other resources for the parents, Angela coordinated a "Buddy Walk" last year. That's when she met Shannon and Brad Foster and their three year old son Bryce.

((Shannon Foster; She just opened her arms to us. She was so amazing and she has such a huge heart.))

A heart she would open to them again not long after the walk.

Angela; He did die in his mom's arms.

Shannon; She was there and she let me tell her the whole story about Bryce and we shed tears and laughs.

Dad; It's just a blessing how God leads people into your life that you can use as a friend and come to love.

Angela has allowed herself to be led into many lives.

Shannon; She's opened her house to others. She's opened her wallet, she's opened her family. there's no bounds for her.

Angels in Our Midst is brought to you by Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.
