DESTIN, FL- The Destin City Council voted to go ahead with an emergency beach restoration project on Destin's Holiday Isle.

A public-private partnership has been organized to pay the estimated one-point-three million dollar cost.

The Destin City Council voted six to one to foot part of the bill.

It comes to about 170-thousand dollars.

Tuesday, The Okaloosa County Commission will decide whether to allocate 415-thousand dollars in bed taxes.

Private property owners will also share the cost.

Even if all funding is approved, the D-E-P will still have to grant an emergency permit for the project to move forward.Destin City Council Approves Emergency Beach Restoration Project
