FAIRHOPE - A man with a gun has barricaded himself in a downtown Fairhope restaurant.
The standoff with police started at...Ravenite Pizzeria on Section Street around four this morning.

Channel Three's Jake Peterson joins us from Fairhope with the latest.

The man is alone in the restaurant.
Officers have blocked off a three block radius around the restaurant.
The pizzeria is located directly across the street from the Fairhope Police Department.

Police say the man's family called them early this morning, saying he was in the restaurant threatening to blow it up.

Officers immediately blocked traffic and cut utility's to the pizzeria.
The sheriff's department SWAT team just arrived on the scene.

Sgt. Craig sawyer: "i don't know of any threat he has made to us. We're just on the phone talking to him, trying to come up with a peaceful resolution."

The man's name has not been released and police won't release his affiliation with the restaurant.

City Hall is also next to the pizzeria..all activities there including a play have been cancelled for the morning.
