PENSACOLA, FL - 17 years ago Saturday a young Pensacola woman disappeared.

Her body was never found and no one was ever charged with a crime.

19-year-old Joanna Otto was last seen in 1992.

She had been at a party with friends when 27-year-old James Gibson gave her a ride home.

Gibson is currently serving time for an unrelated rape case.

There have been several high profile cases recently where missing persons have been found: most notably, Jaycee Dugard in California, who was found after 18 years.

Otto's family does not anticipate a similar outcome in their case.

Kathy Price/Joanna Otto's Mother: "Sometimes I go oh, no was she strangled or drowned or you know just awful stuff."

Dan Thomas/Reporter: "You still have questions?"

Kathy Price/Joanne Otto's Mother: "Right, exactly right."

Thomas: "You think finding her body would answer some of those?"

Price: "Right, right."

Danny Hoseid/Otto's Uncle: "The best thing as far as I'm concerned would be for them to find enough evidence to actually charge some one."

The family believes they know where Otto is buried.

They expect that area to be searched in the next few months.Joanna Otto Disappeared 17 Years Ago This Weekend
