PENSACOLA - For the first time, Wednesday, students at the University of West Florida had a chance to get the swine flu vaccine.

All students had the option of getting the vaccine shot or nasal mist.

This swine flu vaccine clinic at the University of West Florida was a shipment sent just for students to get the vaccine.

Nationwide, university students are in the priority group because of their close proximity to other students.

People administering the vaccine say they saw about one hundred people, maybe 125 come through the doors Wednesday.

What they said was most surprising was that most people opted for the shot, rather than the nasal mist injection.

Now, people are limited as to who can get the nasal injection. Pregnant women, for example, are not eligible for that.

Also people with certain allergies, like a severe egg allergy.

Some people we talked to at the clinic said the reason they opted to get the vaccine was a fear of getting the illness.

"It was under my own will, because I don't have insurance right now, and if there was a chance I'd be hospitalized, that would be a lot of money."

Now, students had to have a 10-minute waiting period after getting the shot, as well as pay ten dollars to get in the door.
