ESCAMBIA COUNTY - Fifth graders at Sherwood Elementary School in Pensacola honored veterans and celebrated America with a flag-raising ceremony this morning.

Students: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the republic, for which it stands. One nation. Under all. Indivisible. With liberty and justice for all."

Special guests at today's event included the Escambia High School NJROTC and the Golden Echoes Senior Citizens Choir from Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.

Projects to sponsor next April's Emerald Coast Honor Flight were also included in events leading up to today's program.
