NAS WHITING FIELD - For the first time in 25 months, there's a new man in charge at NAS Whiting Field.

Captain Enrique Sadsad turned over command of Whiting during a ceremony at the base today.

Starting next month, Captain Sadsad will be deploying overseas, But he says he will not forget about Northwest Florida.

He and his family plan on returning when it comes retirement time.

"I've not been to a place where the community has embraced the military as our community here embraced us and they've done so much to protect our mission."

Captain Sadsad was relieved by Captain Peter Hall.

He is now the 39th leader of Whiting Field.NAS Whiting Field Has Change of Command
