ESCAMBIA COUNTY - There was barely a dry eye in the house at Blue Angels Elementary School Wednesday morning.

Young Blue Angels welcomed in a parade of veterans for a ceremony to celebrate a commitment to service.

Here's Channel Three's Liz Nagy.

They followed a drum roll, dressed in fatigues, flight suits, and ribbons.

These veterans walked through the halls of Blue Angels Elementary, adored by young faces and handmade signs.

Candace Frank: "I've been deployed every year since I've been here, so it was really great to be able to be a part of this."

This "Take a Vet to School Day" was dedicated to men and women who have served in every branch of the United States military.

Kevin Hamblin: "Since I left the military, I miss it really bad, so to get to come and get to do something like this and be surrounded by other veterans, you realize you're never really out of the military."

In a school whose name is dedicated to part of the military based in Pensacola, students have a special connection to serving their country.

Candace Frank: "They recognize that it's not a secret. She's not the only one that has a parent that leaves."

"It's one of the reasons we stayed here instead of moving back home."

Between the patriotic music and the standing ovations, veterans passed along stories to inspire the next generation.

Kevin Hamblin: "A lot of them will probably join the military as a result of what they saw today."

Kyrah Frank: "I just want to tell my mom thank you."
