FLORIDA - A grassroots conservative group is now targeting Florida's U.S. Senate race.

The Club for Growth is considering running anti-Charlie Crist ads to help former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio win the August 2010 Primary.

Crist was asked about the group's efforts in New York, where they are taking credit for ousting a moderate Republican incumbent from his congressional seat.

If the group helps Rubio, it could cut Crist's fund-raising edge.

He has raised six million dollars.

Fla. reform school abuse claims lack support
March 11, 2010 16:43 EST

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Investigators have been unable to substantiate or refute claims of physical and sexual abuse at a state reform school 40 or more years ago.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a final report on the allegations Thursday along with a letter from a prosecutor saying it offers insufficient evidence to charge anyone with a crime.

Gov. Charlie Crist in 2008 ordered the agency to investigate allegations of abuse including deaths at the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in Marianna.

Last year, investigators announced they had determined no foul play was involved in the deaths of 32 boys and staff members buried in unidentified graves at the school.
