OKALOOSA COUNTY - The Okaloosa County Commission has unanimously approved a resolution to officially oppose the Amberjack fishing lockdown.
The National Marine Fisheries Service closed the season October 24th, after determining that the recreational quota had been reached.
But, many captains say that determination was based on 18-year-old data.
The lockdown, combined with the closure of the snapper season, has forced the virtual shutdown of the local fishing fleet.
