MILTON, FL - Water pressure has been restored for thousands of customers in Milton.

Monday, a water main break caused around 750 thousand gallons of water to leak out of the cities water system.

Crews located the leak at the intersection of Stuart Street and Park Avenue.Channel Three James Jackson, has the latest.

More than 5 thousand Milton residents were without water.

Students at Milton High noticed the change all around campus

Crews were working all day Tuesday, bypassing a water leak at Stuart Street and Park Avenue to restore water to customers.

Milton High lost water pressure. Students were asked to bring bottled water to school. Several restrooms and water fountains were out of order.

"Katie Owens/Milton Student: "Its not been that different, its a little more crowded in the bathrooms that actually work and actually have water. We want to go use the water fountains, you catch yourself where you walk out there and there's a bag over it."

Stacy Bramel/Student " We have some concerns, the water did get turned back on and we have bottled water in our cars and stuff to use. It wasn't a big deal. Really."

School leaders took precautions. They also brought bottled water to school and got bags of ice for the athletic programs.

Chaz Riley/Student "Yesterday was our first day of practice for basketball and they had to get water from an convenience store way down the road so we could have one jug of water and it has been kind of hard to use it sparingly between 15 guys."

Katie "all of our friends, we were like calling each other last night, making sure we all knew for sports this afternoon or to just make sure you had enough."

A boil water notice was issued for part of the area.

That could be lifted as early as Wednesday around noon.

The city will have to get the okay from the Fl Dept of Transportation to fix the leak at the intersection.

That will be discussed at a later date.Milton Residents' Water Finally Restored After Water Main Break
