ESCAMBIA COUNTY, AL - A school board member in Escambia County, Alabama has been arrested on charges he allegedly fondled female inamtes.
A grand jury has indicted Richard Hawthorne.. a former corrections officer.. for custodial sexual misconduct, ethical violations, prostitution, and promoting prison contraband.
Investigators said Hawthorne was a corrections officer for the sheriff when two female inmates that he transported accused him of fondling them.
Hawthorne left the jail Friday, after his wife posted a 140 thousand dollar bond.
