REGIONAL - The PR push for the K-C 45 Tanker contract is back on.

Today, Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine spoke to Pensacola leaders about the new Gulf Coast Aerospace Corridor Alliance.

It's a joint lobbying effort with state leaders from Mississippi and Alabama.

County leaders in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties are also on board.

The group says Florida Governor Charlie Christ has not committed to the alliance.

The bidding war between Northrop Grumman and Boeing should begin early next year.

Nodine says they'll fight until the end.

"The deal is to get as many people if we have to take buses up to d-c like tea parties do we have to go up and fight for these jobs, its very important."

The Air Force refueling contract is a $35 billion deal.

It could bring thousands of jobs to the Gulf Coast.

Commissioner Nodine says other companies including a space company are looking to relocate to the Gulf Coast because of the recent aerospace alliance.

An announcement from Governor Bob Riley is expected on Monday.Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine Pushes For Tanker Contract

Probation for teen who helped in murder plot
November 20, 2009 18:16 EST

MIAMI (AP) -- A 13-year-old Miami Beach boy accused in a murder plot has agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors.

His attorney says the boy accepted the deal Friday and will not serve any serious prison time.

In September, the teen was accused of joining the plot of a 15-year-old friend to kill the older boy's mother. The younger boy stabbed her, but the steak knife broke on her collar bone.

Police charged the son with conspiracy, solicitation to commit murder and tampering with evidence.

The 13-year-old pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of aggravated battery, reduced from the initial charge of attempted murder. He will be on probation for six years and must undergo regular psychiatric treatment.

The 15-year-old boy remains in custody.
