PENSACOLA, FL - A group of young people is gathering right now to protest the death of 17-year-old Victor Steen.

Steen died last Saturday after he was run-over by Officer Jerald Ard in a police chase.

Channel Three's Bill Pearson joins us live from the scene of the rally, Bill?

We're starting to see the begining of a demonstration here at ppd.

23-year-old Andrew Torres saw the deadly accident where Victor Steen lost his life.

He and a group of friends decided yesterday they needed to make a statement.

So, they're here now on their bicycles to draw attention to this case.

From here, the group will head to the Pensacola City Council meeting at 7 pm in City Hall.

Earlier in the day, leaders from the National Southern Christian Leadership Council gathered at the site of Victor Steen's death.

They're demanding all law enforcement agencies stop using stun guns.

Dexter Wimbish/ National SCLC: "Now the in this case, its apparent that the use of he Taser didn't directly cause the death of the young man. But it played a critical part in it and what we believe is many police officers are using bad judgment."

Those state and national SCLC leaders say they are glad there has been a lot of interest in this case and they support the protesters here at ppd.

We will follow these concerned bicyclist down to tonight's city council meeting to find out what their message is to local leaders.Locals Gather to Protest Teenager Victor Steen's Death
