ESCAMBIA COUNTY - The Escambia County Engineering Department wants to hear from the public tonight about speeding concerns in two Bellview neighborhoods.

Commissioners have already approved funding for the traffic calming plan for King George Estates and West Pensacola Heights.

Residents say drivers use their neighborhoods as a shortcut between Mobile Highway and Michigan Avenue.

But now, those areas will receive new signs and 18 speed tables.

Engineering department staff will present a plan to reduce speeding and a timetable for phase one of that project.

The meeting will be held at Charity Chapel Church located at 5820 Montgomery Avenue.

That's one block south of Michigan Avenue and three blocks east of Mobile Highway.

That meeting will begin at 7 pm tonight.
