ESCAMBIA COUNTY - Channel Three's Sue Straughn spoke with Congressman Jeff Miller today about job growth in Northwest Florida.

He says expansions of high paying jobs in the area is the key to economic recovery.

"There is a continued influx of money coming from jobs in the military. That stabilizes the economy..that's why our numbers are below the national average.

"Everybody wants the huge thousand jobs in economic development but you protect what you have and three and four hundred jobs at a time that is a big hit."

Other topics up for discussion were healthcare and the Thysenkrupp Tanker deal.

WESTON, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating a traffic accident in which a truck full of goats, pigs and chickens crashed into another vehicle, killing one person and several animals.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the accident happened Monday night in Broward County, about 15 miles north of Weston, when a flatbed truck jackknifed and was struck by another vehicle.

The driver of the second truck was killed, and dozens of animals thrown onto the road.

Some of the livestock escaped into the Everglades, and investigators fear they could become a road hazard.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
