Memorial for Tyler Jefferson
ESCAMBIA COUNTY - A private memorial service will be held today, for an 18-year-old Navy woman found murdered last week.
Tyler Jefferson's body was found lying facedown on 49th Avenue in the Myrtle Grove area.
She had been shot three times.
It's believed Jefferson was jogging when she died, and that robbery may have been the motive.
But, the only clue investigators have is a dark four-door sedan that was seen leaving the area after the shots were heard.
Jefferson joined the Navy this summer, after graduating from high school in Tyler, Texas.
She was stationed at the Center for Information Dominance at Corry Station, and was enrolled in "Information Systems Technician School."
She was scheduled to graduate next week.
Her memorial service is set for one this afternoon, at the Corry Chapel.
