Clarinda Triangle Demolition
ESCAMBIA COUNTY - Demolition could begin as soon as Friday at the superfund site known as "Clarinda Triangle."
That area includes Clarinda Lane, Pace Boulevard, Loretta Street, and North Pace Boulevard.
And in a licensing agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers,
Escambia County will demolish , remove, and clean-up structures in Clarinda Triangle.
The Escambia Treating Company operated in that community for nearly 40 years, causing soil and groundwater contamination.
To remediate Clarinda Triangle, residents in that area were moved.
And because of the Superfund Redevelopment Initiative Grant and input from the community, the area will be re-used as a commerce park.
That licensing agreement between Escambia County and the ACOE continues until November 20th, 2010.
