Starting quarterback on opening night. And nearly a dozen players suspended from last year's academic scandal.
They'll play shorthanded for the first three weeks... But they're putting the best face they can on it.
Everette Brown, FSU Junior Defensive End: Well, it will be challenging. We're missing quite a few guys. We're treating it like they're injured. Some of the freshmen are going to be able to step up. Moses McCray, Everett Dawkins, newcomer Marcus White. Those guys have a great opportunity to step up and play early. And it's gonna be a great challenge the first three games. But, in the long run, it'll help us because we'll have more depth and, not only depth, but experience.

Clint bowyer holds the 12th and final spot..... 17 points ahead of david ragan. Kasey kahne is 48 points out of the final chase spot... After back-to-back 40th place finishes knocked him out of the top-12.

It's too early to be a decisive road trip for the Rays. But it could ultimately define the season.

Miami is still a year or two from returning to some measure of national prominence.
And it will be all they can do to hang with Florida. The Canes have put together two terrific recruiting classes.
Both freshman quarterbacks, Jacory Harris and redshirt Robert Marve, who makes his first start against the Gators, were state champions and Florida "Mr. Footballs." just like Tim Tebow.
Miami is talented... But young.... on defense.
But containing Tim Tebow.... and all those weapons... Is a tall task for a young defense, no matter how talented.
