Comment: I do believe in the freedom of speech having served over twenty-years in the military to uphold that right! However, I do also believe in weighing the cause-and-effect of such an act and the repercussion of more American lives wasted. Comment: I'm a devout Christian and Jesus put it like this: Luke 6:28-29 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. KJV Regardless of what is said or done we are to work to be like Jesus is. Tony Loxley from Loxley by Anthony
Comment: would we stand by and let them burn the bible. I think not and our country was based on religious freedom.we have problems with terrorist not religion. from pen/fl by dusty
Comment: This Pastor needs to take a long and hard look at the Bible. If we are going to burn one groups bible, then we need to burn everyone's. It is not the book, but the people that interpret the meaning of those words. So he is no better tthan they are suppose to be. from Tampa, Florida by Dave
Comment: How would you like it if some group proposed burning the Bible? Big up rising, we don't need to angry a large portion of the World. from Gulf Breeze, Fl by Ronald
Comment: Everything we do provokes Islamic extremists. When will americans wake up and understand that we as a country are in a religious war. from Baker Fl by Danny
Comment: This is just another "IDIOT" wanting to get his name in the press. If he really wants to do something to send a message to radical Muslims then he should volunteer for MILITARY SERVICE and face the dangers of our troops that, by his actions could further be endangered. NUTS LIKE THIS DON'T DESERVE the time of day muchless the wordwide the news media is giving him. By lou from pensacola by lou
Comment: I oppose all book burnings. Instead of burning the Quran, why doesn't the pastor read it to understand the other religion? Terry Jones just wants to get the attention it would cause. Why doesn't he actually follow what Jesus taught? from Pensacola, FL by Denise
Comment: I strongly oppose this reckless and unnecessary act, that will most likely result in more U S troops being killed. How would the pastor and church members feel if the Afghans burned our bible?? from Pensacola, FL by Michael
Comment: Just like the mosque, even tho it's not in good taste,we have the right to do it. from pensacola, fl. by shirley
Comment: MUSLIMS HAVE BUT ONE OBJECTIVE, TO KILL JEWS AND CHRISTIANS. BUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND, OR CANNOT ACCEPT THE FACT THAT ONE DAY THERE WILL BE ANOTHER WAR BETWEEN THE CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS. from Niceville by Bill
Comment: The Islamic Community has no problem critizing the Christen Faith and beliefs and shout death to ayone who does not believe in the Islamic faith. If they have the right to take the actions they do then I see no reason the Church is south Florida should be condemmed for doing what they believe. I do however believe that the people of the U.S. need to stand up for their beliefs and stop cowtoeing to the beliefs of every other country and religion. from Mary Esther FL by Bob
Comment: First I am thinking he is in violation of our constitutional guaranty of seperation of church and state. Churchs are not intended to be political arenas and making a church a political flash point violates the law of respecting religions. I for one feel that anyone that follows any of the popular religious models are idiots anyway.. I do not need anyone to tell me how I have to relate to my creator..Duh we are a nation based on freedom of religious persecution, but it seems like that just is not the case. from Pensacola by Michael
Comment: Romans 12:19-21. 19.Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written. Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20.Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink' for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21. Be not overcome of evil, but ovecome evil with good. from Navarre, FL by Vickie
Comment: We should love these people and show them the love of Christ. Pray for them. Not all Muslim's are evil. I see where they coming from but that still does not give us the right to burn there book from Milton, Fl by Terri
Comment: This is the worst thing that can be done at this time. We're suppose to be trying to get our solders home safe ,by burning the Quran, this will only put them in more danger, and at a greater risk of being lashed out at. from pensacola by jessica
Comment: Burning their "holy" book does not get rid of the innate problem. It is simply a not-too-smart act of retaliation which can only backfire on us. Think about it. We cannot expect an unreasonable religion-supporting people to suddenly become reasonable because one of their Quran books was burned. They burn our flag and our people. Their will is to ERADICATE non-believers. Their resolve can only become stronger to step up their process of killing more Americans and other non-believers. Why provoke them? We all have the same feeling that we want to stop them. This is not the way. Practice restraint in this instance. (The pastor could burn it in private if that is his bent. Don't advertise it!) from Crestview, FL by Lucy
Comment: they are burning our right now and they expect us not to burn theirs.get real this is a sham . stand up and be counted for our freedom. from atmore by thurl
Comment: Must be the church of "Hate one another". Don't know what god they worship but he's the wrong one. Let's pray that these confused people learn God;s message of love. from Milton by Joe
Comment: ofcourse i support it! I'm a proud American, and it enrages me when i hear this! How can they destroy the twin towers and pentagon and then expect to get rights such as a mosque near ground zero and respect for the kuran!? How is it that in america they can kill our people and burn our flag and we act civilized, yet if we were to do that in their country we'd be jailed or executed?! I think its about time we realized this and did something about while still being cicvilized!!! from pensacola,fl by antje
Comment: although its our right under the constitution covered under freedom of speech, i believe it would insite exstemist . why put yourself down on thier level? are we not better than these uncivilized animals who kill innocents to force thier beliefs on others from milton fl by gary
Comment: What is it with Islam. A woman is stoned to death for adultry, authors and cartoonists are sentenced to death for blasphemy, now people are rioting and killing over one preacher burning some books. Get over it. from Pensacola/FL by James
Comment: Burn baby burn. By the way I love Molly. Keep up the good work. Thanks from mobile al by rich
Comment: Let's put the shoe on the other foot. How would these "Christians" and I use the term loosely, feel if someone used pages from the Bible for toilet paper? It is legally protected by the First Amendment and only expressing the user's opinion. If you are appalled by this idea then so should you be appalled by the idea of burning the Koran. from Navarre, FL by Mary
Comment: It's not illegal but nothing good will come from it. Islam is here to stay as are many religons. Mabye the good pastor need look in his closet from Pensacola by Kevin
Comment: I put them in the same boat as the Islamic extremists because it goes to show that the Church with their religion are just like the Islamic extremists wanting to do what they please, not even thing about how bad it might affect other people. from Bay Minette, Al by James
Comment: A Very Bad example to show for a country proclaiming religious freedom. If our churches begin burning opposition, who can be safe? from Baldwin County by Barbara
Comment: this guy wants americans to go back to being americans? how bout the 1'st admendment freedom of religion? from milton/fla by stephen
Comment: Jones and his congregation obviously do not have family members serving overseas. The Quran is a religious book. He as a minister has no respect for religion or for our Military. Pray for our military, they are going to need it with these idiots actions. What's next, BURN all the books in the library. from crestview/fl by Beth
Comment: You are being just as extreme as the people you are chastising. I am a recent convert to Islam and let me tell you that ths act of blatant disregard is what caused this in the first place. You are no better than Hitler!!!!! Grow up and be the nion our father's founded. from Pensacola,FL by Kelly
Comment: Every one says we should practice "Tolerance" maybe they should practice what they preach. Besides, the church is practicing thier right of free speech. from Baker by John
Comment: Mr. Jones needs to read his Bible. If Jesus were here today I know he wouldn't support such an act. Hating and disrespecting other people is never the right thing to do, no matter the religion! from Fort Walton Beach / FL by Erin
Comment: While Mr. Jones is safe and comfortable at home enjoying the publicity, he seems to be oblivious to the real-world dangers faced by our troops, and to the more intelligent ways of defeating the enemy. He is NOT pursuing the teachings of Jesus Christ. He is inciting and motivating the Islamic extremists to continue toward their goals, while NOT doing any damage to them at all. He is doing exactly what they would want him to do. from Destin, FL by Terry
Comment: 100% approve
Comment: What is burning the Quran going to accomplish? I am a Navy widow. How much more of a statement can we make than the fact that our military is risking thier lives and many losing them to show these radicals how the United States reacts to terroism. This action of Terry Jones is based on ignorance NOT on an expression of freedom of speech. Don't place our troops in greater danger because that WILL be the result. You have had your say Terry Jones. Your face has been on television. What do you propose next, burning crosses on people's lawns. You really want to make a statement? Go be a chaplin on the battlefield.... from Pensacola, Fl by Brenda
Comment: Burning bibles, U.S. flags and Presidents in effigy overseas, or cutting off reporters heads and executing and dragging soldiers bodies thru the streets, has never created a backlash against Muslims here. So yes, burn a Quran in protest, they have set a greater precedent. from Pensacola by Robert
Comment: All it takes for radical muslims to enslave the world is non radical, peace loving people to do nothing. History has taught us fanatics can not be stopped with words. from milton/fl by michael
Comment: It's an American right. The media never focuses on Islam flag burnings on a daily basis. Why is this such a big deal. from Pensacola/Fl by Kyle
Comment: History proves you can go all the way back to the War between the States as it is referred to and their is "hatred" among our own ancestors. This is ridiculous because there will always be religious differences until the end of time. That should not be taken out on any group of people for their religious beliefs. The extremists are the ones that should be targeted - the religion. from Ft Walton Beach, FL by Mildred
Comment: If the peaple show NO respect to the United States by burning the American Flag, why should we be sencitive to thier feelings from P[ENS./FL. by DAVID
Comment: While I would like to BOMB the entire countries of Afghanistan, and Pakistan into the 16th century, If we burn the Quran, we are no better than they are. This should have been done when Americans were being BEHEADED. To do it now is FUTILE! from BoonDocks of Navarre by Lawrence
Comment: I oppose the burning of the Quran as I would the burning of the Bible. from Gulf Breeze/FL by Don
Comment: This ignorance will only incite hate, anger and retaliation.Wouldn't want to live in Gainsville after 9/11/2010. WWJD is what the Dove Outreach Center should be thinking of, not revenge!!! from florida by a concerned american!!!
Comment: Oppose for sure, makes you wonder who is really the extremist. This shows you dont have to be Muslum to be an extremist. The head of the Dove Outreach Center needs to go over seas and burn it in front of people who believe in thier faith...he wouldnt be back KIA!What a low educated person would not do to gain the spotlight and put others at risk. Dont want to hear about freedom of expression. Sometimes you have to have common sense and look at the big picture. Next:Muslums burn the Bible...then what? Sad what low I.Q. people will do for attention. from Pensacola,Fl by Flower
Comment: Remove the news media and stop paying attention to this extremist. 'Dove' symbolizes peace ......Mr. Jones is seeking attention is a sick manner, so no more attention. by Anonymous
Comment: why is it that if someone wants to burn the bible or our flag it is fredom of speach and protected under the fist amendment, but if we burn a flag or religious books from another county or religion its a hate crime. let the first amendment stand for an american for once. from pensacola by michael
Comment: I oppose it, yet they can burn our Bibles that are brought into thier countries in order that the people in thier country will not read them. Strange, we allow everything to happen to us, but when it comes to thier ideals, they get mad. So sad. from Pensacola, FL by John
Comment: I am totally against the burning of ANY book. One of the great things about America is freedom of speech, be it in print or voice. If you don't like it, don't listen to or read it. That simple. from Pensacola Fl by Shelli
Comment: our troups ARE in harms way because of Radical Islamist abroad. The Rules of Engagement put them at risk there. Radical Islamist here put all of us at risk here. Lets flushem out and deal with them accordingly. Bring on the jihad. The SOUTH WILL RISE !!! The rest will sit and complain. GOD BLESSES AMERICA..Stand UP !!! from MARY ESTHER by michael
Comment: You news sources never bother to get all the facts do you? Ever note the following? Koran followers are allowd to kill all others. Many may not, but others do Koran followers accept Jesus as only a prophet, not Son of God Koran followers are expected to kill all Christians and Jews. Put one in the White House (despite claims otherwise), and we are "No longer a Christian Nation" Who asked his opinion anyway? And why treat it as a brag before a foreign power? If a muslim temple decided to burn thousands of copies of the Holy Bible, it would not make into the news. I guess that is a signal of where you put your faith now, right? You know what the top leaders of the Democratic party are? To change us from a Republic with representative government to a form of total government controlled named Socialism because the name is not so threatening. Know what the Preident's personal goal is? To move from that to a dictatorshilp with him on top, or change us to what is called a Kingdom because the one on top is of a royal bloodline. Where to find a royal bloodline? Try Saudi Arabia for starters. You start with "But isn't that where he..." and I just reply "Ysp. Very same place." Leaving? Well, don't trip over that Martial Law book that we use to prop the door open or closed with. Trip over that, and there is nothing to grab hold of. from Pensacola, FL by Donald
Comment: I am opposed to the burning of the Quran. This action will result in the deaths of American service men and women. I am currently deployed and know firsthand this action does not support our troops and definitely undermines our strategic goals in the region. I have emailed Dr. Jones to ask he reconsider his planned event. from Pensacola Florida by Richard
Comment: How is this any different from the radicals of the Muslim faith that have done so much harm? from Pensacola, FL by Ann
Comment: Are they also going to burn the Bible and our flag? When is the hatred going to end? I don't think they have a christian attitude. from Pensacola, Fl by Ola
Comment: I have a hard time understanding the meaning behind Rev. Terry Jones plan to publicly burn the Quran. The Rev. should be more interested in forgiving, healing and then moving on. We do not expect to see our Ministers of the Word act in such a mean and vengeful manner. He may state that this is freedom of speech but I feel whenever anyones religion is attacked, there is a wrong doing. It is very hard to raise children in a Christian manner as it is; now we have to try to explain why a Minister would implement such a hateful act. The Quran, my bible, should be respected as these are the tools of our faith and instruction on how to live a life of goodness; something you would think the good Rev. might know! How shameful is this act if it were to happen. Just Shameful!! from Munson, Fl by Judy
Comment: This may not be the most popular opinion, it's about time someone in the U.S. grew a set! The muslim countries can burn the American flag, the Bible, photo images of our government officials, and a photo of Terry Jones (head of the Dove World Outreach Center) without anyone so much as raising a finger! Oh, but don't let anyone else do anything in protest of thier religion and beliefs. This is clearly a matter of an American citizen exercising his right to freedom of expression. Why can't he do this without everyone in the world throwing a fit? Have you ever thought that it's because America has become complacent to what others do to us? Is tolerance really the right way to go? What ever happened to 'American and proud of it'? Are we still the most powerful nation on earth? We may not wish to stand next to Terry Jones and his congregation to burn the quran, we do need to defend his right to 'Freedom of Expression'. from Cantonment, FL by Russell
Comment: The irony is thick, when one considers the name of this church. The dove has traditionally been used as a symbol of peace, yet this group apparently is not concerned about the violent consequences, particularly for our service men and women, that could come about because they insist on an adolescent gesture of defiance. from Navarre by Teresa
Comment: As a former New Yorker, I have every reason in the world to detest and abhor terrorists and what they 'think' they stand for; however as a Christian, I cannot see the justification in Quran burning: to what purpose? Sure it will make a statement, but what type? Violence (of any kind) only begets more violence. If something has to be burned, let's burn those 9/11 terrorists in effigy. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: When you're in uncomfortable position and have got no money to move out from that point, you will require to take the loan. Just because that would aid you for sure. I get auto loan every single year and feel fine just because of this.
Comment: If this happens it will play into the hands of terrorist worldwide who are in need of fuel for their fire and we all lose! from Pensacola,Fl by Erwin
Comment: After Consantine summoned the Council of Nicaea, effectively the first Ecumenical Council which formed the first cannonical texts of the bible a persecution and book burning followed. All non-cannonical books were deemed heretical and burned. So the Catholic Pope has no moral authority to condemn any religious book burning. After the reformation Protestants ripped books out of the Holy Roman Catholic cannon, and fomed their own cannon. In essence they deleted and burned religious texts also. Don’t get me started with Islam. They burned the Library of Alexandria to the ground, because is was not of Islam. Do I agree with book burning? NO, however in America this church has every right to freely express themselves and I would defend that right to the death from Pensacola by Marianne
Comment: Hell yes. They burn our flag, but we don't go out and shoot every ARAB. Why not show them the same respect? from Pensacola/FL by Leonard
Comment: I can't believe a pastor thinks two wrongs will make a right. That is not Gods way. from Lucedale/MS by Angela
Comment: This clown wants to send a message to radical Muslims. So, what kind of message is he trying to send to moderate Muslims? It is extremists like him, his followers, silent rightest radical leaders and the same in other faiths, a primary reason why the world is in peril. Threats from a radical Muslim is about the same as that of a radical Christian. None will do the world any favors. Check out history. from Navarre, Fl by HB
Comment: Why become what you are against? I feel those who murdered need to be punished, but to say my way of worshop is the only way would be wrong. My God loves and forgives all. And will punish in is own way we his children. from Pensacola, FL by Bree
Comment: Burn them. And throw a few Muslims in with them. I'd say they still owe us almost 3,000 lives anyway after 9/11. Never forget, never forgive. from Cantonment, Fl. by Jeff
Comment: Even though "THEY" burn our flag and bible, 2 wrongs don't make a right. from Daphne by Daniel
Comment: why is it that every religion can do or say what they want except christians its time the christians stood up for their belief. by karen
Comment: We are at war with terrorists, not Islam. They believe they are in a holy war and if we burn their holy book, then we only lower ourselves to their standards by promoting violence instead of peace and love. from Mobile, AL by Madeline
Comment: I don't think he should burn the book but I also don;t agree with them burning our flag either from milton fl by Liz
Comment: Burning the Quran provokes anger, loving people softens their hearts! What would Jesus do? from Milton/Fl by Pamela
Comment: I oppose unless all the other religions in the U.S. doesn't mind if the muslims took copies of the bible and other religious books and urinated on them. That would be the least destructive way that this situation could be resolved. from Gulf Breeze by Robert
Comment: As good neighbors we help those whose homes are burned. Perhaps we can ban together, collect more Quran's are burned, and send them to Mosque's in the US? from Pensacola by Paula
Comment: I think its crazy to burn any book not to mention a holy book, regardless wether or not you agree with it or some of its members, if we did that with our Christians brothers and sisters we would be burning bibles on an hourly rate, not to metion endangering our soilders fighting for our freedoms on foreign soil. from Pensacola by Kasey
Comment: Hatred, intolerence and ignorance breeds more hatred. If this church wants to abide by the teachings of Jesus Christ, they will not burn the Toran. Jesus said, "Love your enemies." He also said, "I know what your "book" says, and "eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But "I" say, "Love your enemies". Do GOOD to those who oppose you. All this burning will do is inflame the situation and show just how hypocritic some of us "so-called" Christians are. In fact, if a person reads the Koran and the Bible, they parallel each other. It is time that religious doctrine be exposed to exactly what it is; Hypocricy! from Milton, Fl by Terry
Comment: I don't believe any book of religion should be destroyed. In this case, as Gen. Patreus commented, it puts our military & Americans in danger wherever they might be. from Pensacola FL by Eleanor A.
Comment: I think this is one of the most un-christian events I have ever heard of. It is certainly not the sort of christian behavior I know. According the the teachings of Jesus, a christian is supposed to turn the other cheek. Christians are supposed to live their lives as Jesus would. What would Jesus do? I can't imagine Him stooping to such reprehensible behavior. This is another example of violence and hatred in the name of Jesus. This pastor is no better that the terrorists he pretends to oppose. from Pensacola by Joyce
Comment: I don't like the fact that the pastor is going through with it, however I do support his right to do it. After all, we did allow our flag to be burned. It is still a free country. from Pensacola by Trena
Comment: I find it disturbing a man of God would promote the burning of any literature, much less the Holy Word of any belief. The book does not cause violence, it is the radical, self serving criminals who use it as an excuse for their actions. from Pensacola, FL by Wayne
Comment: I am outraged by this action. Its raciest and against all christian beliefs. Its no different then burning a cross on someones lawn or the burning of the american flag and it may put the live of our troops in more jeporday. from milton, fl. by kathy
Comment: I remember Sarah Palin speaking about the Manhattan Mosque, "Yes they have the right to do it, but should they?". I feel the same way about the Dove World Outreach Center. from Pensacola by John
Comment: I hope he will nobody else will do a thing. I bet you could read A Quran at pace high school but not a bible! from Seminole, Al. by Howard
Comment: Where's the uproar when vile acts are committed against the Bible from Cantonment, FL by Leon
Comment: It's sad that a pathetic religious fanatic can endanger our troops who are risking their lives. That would be like an Islamic cleric burning a bunch of Bibles, it just doesn't make sense. from Pensacola by Karen
Comment: what i oppose is the media coverage given this "event". no coverage=no news. are corporate profits worth American servicemens life? from cantonment,fl by ed
Comment: While he has the "freedom" to do this, he is putting our soldiers (who give him this right)in even more danger by this display. Burning it doesn't do away with it, & as a christian he should share the salvation of Jesus instead of hate. from Mobile by Patti
Comment: How would that church feel if other countries decided to burn the Bible. Our men and women are overseas fighting and this is going to put them in more danger. Is God going to be pleased with that church's decision on burning the Quran? Have they thought about that! This is, in my opinion, a form of violence and I don't want my children thinking they can destroy things to send messages to people. from Pensacola by concerned
Comment: Terry Jones' choice to burn the Quran abuses the the freedom given to him by those who he will hurt the most: our soldiers and sailors. from Gulf Breeze FL by Lynne
Comment: I think the federal government should stop this or let them do it on a barge in international waters. This would ensure that they could be arrested by the countries that consider this a crime. from pensacola, fl by steven
Comment: WHY IS IT OK FOR PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE EAST TO BURN OUR FLAG, PICTURES OF OUR LEADERS AND CRITICIZE OUR DEMOCRACY WHICH WAS FOUNDED ON FREEDOM AND THE RIGHT TO RELIGION. TURN AROUND IS FAIR PLAY. from PENSACOLA / FLORIDA by MIKE

Comment: Our Faith Teaches us, as Americans to live by the Holy Bible, without violence. from Milton, Fl. by Leroy and Greta
Comment: Two wrongs don't make a right, so for a church leader to do something that could incite violence is complete iodiocy. I am praying for our troops, my son particularly, that are deployed in harms way right now. We have to do all we can to protect the men and women in uniform! from Ft. Wlaton Beach, FL by Lisa
Comment: Atheists and liberals in the past have burned bibles, flags, bras and who knows what all, and nothing much was said because of the constitution, if it wasnt for the media blasting this all over the world no one would even know about it, after all the church only has 50 members and are looking for their 15 min. of fame. leave it alone and it will go away. Johnnie from Pensacola , Fl by Johnnie
Comment: I think it is criminal for a Church to support the burning ofthe Quran, just as I think it would be criminal to burn the Bible from Destin, Fl by Mary Ann
Comment: I was hoping we did away with bookburning when Hitler was beaten. Nobody should burn literature. They should use it to learn about the people that are true followers. You are burning their interpretation of Gods words. This preacher is only after publicity, he is not a true Christian. from Milton/FL by Carla
Comment: HELL NO IMI NO... IF THE PRESS AND REPORTERS WOULD STOP MAKING A BIG THING OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS ACTION...IT WOULD ALL BE FORGOTTEN AND THE WORLD COULD CARRY ON AS IT HAS FOR MANY MANY YEARS...IT'S TIME FOR PEOPLE TO STAY OUT OF OTHERS/ OR COUNTRY BUSINESS.........WE LET MANY GROUPS BURN OUR AMERICAN FLAG.... from NICEVILLE FL by ROBERT
Comment: They have every right to do what they propose to do. They burn our flag in the middle east even when our troops die for them, We have a right to burn their so called 'holy book'. It is a 1st admendment issue. No one over here should protest thwe church in Gainsville because it is one of our primary rights of free speech. If the islams do not have to be sensitive to our feelings, then we do not have to be sensitive to theirs'. from Pace, FL by Ron
Comment: No, I don't approve of Christians burning Korans, anymore than I would approve of Muslims burning bibles. The bigger question is why is the media giving this nut case preacher the coverage? So many important things happeniong in the world today, NEVER get reported, yet some nut bag bible-thumper with an agenda gets wall to wall coverage? This wreeks of a bigger agenda, one that is definetly not in Americas's best interest. And we know what that agenda is!! The U.S. must have an enemy to continue the justification for the PNAC "war on terror" and scare the citizens, and since we are pulling out of Irag, then we must bring this non-sense home, by declaring war on muslims!! Leave it to the extreme christian right to start this non-sense!! from pensacola fl. by David
Comment: Why doesn't this "so called" Paster, who is an old man, go to "Afghanistan" and burn the Koran... We all know why.... he is a "COWARD" who wants young men to die while he is safe in Florida. I can say he is an old man... I'm 65 yr. old This type of person hiding behind religion what a hypocrite !!!! from pensacola by chip
Comment: I oppose burning the Quran, Bible, Torah, Flag, building mosques or churches merely to incite others. I support completely the Right to do these things. I fought for 30 years to support that right. But, that doesn't mean those are the smartest or right things to do. We should not placate intolerant people to prove our tolerance. from navarre/fl by bob
Comment: He's a very brave man. Thousands of miles from where our heroes actually do prove a point. I wonder how brave he'd be in in uniform, in Baghdad. What a coward. Did his congregation ever here "beware of false prophets"? from gulf breeze, fl by jasper
Comment: Unfortunately I can see why they would want to I do not agree with it but I feel they are trying to send a message to all parties conserned. To the radical Muslims that kill americans and to the US for permitting them to build the muscu on ground zero. The US would not allow a group of Natzies to build there nor KKK and we veiw this in the same light. It is disrespectful to American and if the ones building there were "true Americans" they would understand this. They have a place of worship a few blocks away that is addiquite why push this just to be in our faces? So with this in mind it is not unthinkable that some would deside to take their feelings and make a showing. Remember years ago book that were thought to be "bad influence, Uncle Bens Cabin" were burned too. I think both situations should not be performed the building of the Mosce and the burning of their holy book. Oh and if the Muslims try to say we have a lot of churches closely built if they look they are usually of different denominations. from Navarre, FL by Laurie
Comment: I only support because it is a free country to do and say what you like....however that being said "they burn our flag"!!!!!! from Navarre, FL by Susan
Comment: I am totally opposed to what this so-called "preacher" is planning to do. How can one call himself a christan and carry so much hate in his heart. I am terrible afraid that this will bring the war on terriorism to our front doors. Jones will have the blood of many Americans on his hands before this is finished. I hope that someone out there can stop him before it is to late. from Valpariaso, FL by Donna
Comment: He is proving his point. If a small Muslim church was going to burn a bible it wouldn't even make the news and it would be forgiven and passed off as a nut case. But burn the coran and we expect that even moderate muslims will lash out in anger and violence and the entire government including the military if afraid. Point made. from pensacola by john
Comment: i believe that is a bad thing to do. how would they feel if some one held a ralley to burn Bibles. what happen to freedom of relegion. people need to stop trying to make everyone think their way is the right way. everyone has the right to their on belief. from Mobile Al. by Roy
Comment: In principle I oppose the plan. However I would be even more opposed if the Imams in the U.S. would publicly denounce those portions of the Quran that teach Muslims to "deceive the infidel", "kill the infidel" and/or denounce the killing of Christians because of their religious belief. from Pensacola/FL by Jerry
Comment: I am a United States Marine and very strongly disagree with what this Church is doing. It is not in the Christian nature to do this. Also, this will endanger the lives of many of my friends, brothers and sisters who are currently in theatre in Afghanistan. Why would an American want to put the lives of his fellow Americans in danger of getting killed? We as Americans should not stand for this action. Think about the lives of our men and women in the Marines, Navy, Air Force and Army. from Camp Lejeune, NC by James
Comment: If a muslin pastor wanted to burn the bible we as christains would be outraged. Why would we expect any less from muslins. Terry Jones has a right to burn the Quran because we live in America. He does not speak for America. He does not have the right to use God's house to promote hate and violence. from Laurel hill Florida by Becky
Comment: Why does the world - including US folks - support burning the American Flag in protest for everything, but if you offend Muslims by burning the Koran - the whole world - including the US folks - are against you. I just can't understand all this equality. Conard from Leesburg,FL by Conard
Comment: Shame on the man that calls himself a man of God to put innocent American lives in danger over a few books. It will not change anything for the good, will only creat more war. I say "Practice what you preach". God would never endanger His people over foolishness such as this. Those who participate in the burning, may burn themselves one day, for the blood of many Americans will be on their hands. Can't accomplish anything with such hate. Let the Soldiers fight the war, and the soldiers of God pray for them, not endanger their lives..God says "Hate the sin, not the sinners". Need to be praying and reading the Bible, not burning theirs from Pace, Fl by Kathy
Comment: this man is going to start another meaningless war. I'm sure the guy wouldn't want someone to burn the bible, i think he should leave the muslims alone becvause not all of them are terrorists from pensacola fl by noel
Comment: The church is not burning anything guys. An extremist ( Mr. Jones who was kicked out of his last church for stealing church funds for his own gain aka thief- is the one- not the church he is hiding behind that needs serious action taken upon him. Baker Act the church thief of which his own daughter banned him from. How sick can one be to think religon has anything to do with this. If this simple thief wants to do something-- put a uniform on him and ship him to the front. This is nothing but show boat alligater mouth with a humminbird ass. Has to be an escapee from a mental institution. He just put a bulls eye on his self as there are people out there in the world that would take him out as soon as he lights the match. Hes not the only loon in the woods that believes the way he does. from Pensacola,Florida by St. William
Comment: wow...has it come down to this? this is the typical example of close-mindedness, biggotry, and hatred that most conservatives have...as long as they have their say, they dont care if our troops are on the front line of retribution...as long as it is not them...? yeah, maybe christians should take the time to learn about eastern religions and about karma... from pcola fl by h
Comment: I am a Christian and a disable vet and I feel tnat what this pastor wants to do is against God and the rights of Muslims. The bible sats go back disciples of all nation we should take heed of his word and instead of burning their bible we should be telling them about Jesus. I hope this pastor will ask forgiveness for what he is about to do. from pensacola by tina
Comment: NO ! this man doesn't realize the problems it will cause our men in Irac & the nation. does he have a burn permit? if nit, he needs to be arrested for not having one. how about endanagement of the nation? don't we have enough hardship going on NOW. he's just adding "MORE COLES " to the fire, that is not needed. from pensacola,fl. by geralynn
Comment: I struggled with this one. However, we, as Americans have a right to step on our flag in protest or even burn it. Does our radical right wing go crazy when that happens: yes they do but they don't turn to violence? The Dove World Outreach Center also has the right to burn the Quran in protest. Will the radical Muslim in our country go crazy: yes they will. But I don't think the American Muslims will turn to violence. The question being raised is will the extreme radical Muslims in other countries, including our enemies go crazy: yes the will and they will also turn to violence. However, they are violent to begin with and there is nothing we can or can't do to make them stop except kill them. So whether we burn the Quran or not, they will still kill Americans. It's like the Birthers who think the President is not an American citizen: even if you show them a valid Birth Certificate, pictures of the doctors performing the birth along with a video they will not believe it. So are the radical Muslim extremists: their whole purpose in life is to kill Americans and they will find any justification to do so. Let's not change our Constitution or our Bill of Rights for them: we still have the Freedom of Speech. from Pensacola by Ivan
Comment: I do not believe we can fight hate with more hate and expect to see any change for the good. If we sink to their level, we cannot bring them up to ours. from Baker, FL by Ruby
Comment: I wish that some people would open their eyes and realize how thier actions may hurt others. Does this crazy man not understand that he may cause harm to our military and others that are serving our country. from pensacola FL
Comment: i disagree with the burning of any bible,it is not the right thing to to but if the news wouldn't show or talk about it then it wont be a problem. from pensacola by jacob
Comment: Agree,FREEDOM OF SPEECH,GODS KNOWS THE BEGINNING FROM THE END................ from pensacola by janice
Comment: Support. Americans should unite against the tyranny of the muslim enemy within even as my soldier friends who agree with me are fighting them on foreign soil to keep our constitutional freedoms. Thomas Jefferson and the American Marines fought a 15 year war and trounced muslim tyranny on the high seas and muslim slavery in the middle east and the muslims haven’t forgotten it. Any American has a right to burn any book he owns and all Americans should stand up for that right and not back down from threats and intimidations fostered by the murderous, hate-mongering, enslaving, worldwide Islamic regimeists. from Cantonment FL by Mike
Comment: Dove World Outreach Center should look inward and seek clarity. The Dove represents PEACE. Americans do not place fellow Americans in harm's way.United we stand divided we fall. Let our collective prayer focus on peace. from Pensacola by Ronda
