Class Sizes: Do you believe the constitutional limits on class sizes in Florida should be loosened?

55% Yes
45% No

Comment: Its a questio asked that eveyone knows the answer to. What teacher would not like a smaller class first.(I would like less to do at my job also) Next more pay and jobs created because you need more teachers and more classes. Job creations to justify more taxes to pay for education. Next all the hoopla over the state getting millions and millions of dollors from the tax lottery so taxes would be less. (Didnt happen and no one cares)Except the ones selling the same story like the lottery big dogs (Florida Government in Tall.)I had 32 people in my classes at school- I guess teachers (some) are as dedicated to the word than rather to the deed.Like politics always is. from Pensacola,Fl by Flower

Comment: Florida’s class size law should be upheld. School administrators do not like this law because it costs money. Florida voters spoke when we voted for this law, and we have not changed our minds. Smaller class sizes means more attention given to our children. Money is being wasted in other areas of our government. Before our state leaders give themselves another raise, they should make sure laws that benefit children, such as this, are funded. from Crestview, FL by Beth

Comment: They should not be loosened - our country is already behind in our education dept. compaired to many other countries. The more students a clsss has, the less help the children get. They are our future and we need to take back the lead for all our sakes. from Navarre by Nancy

Comment: We need more teachers for minority childrens. Got to close the cheevment gap. White kids get better FCAT score cause the test racist. FCAT, SAT all racist. Obama need to back his people up with free college and jobs like doctor and wall street. by LaQuevian

Comment: just a little...maybe up to 20-25 students...but not more than that... from pcola fl by h

Comment: The voters of this state, not to long ago, voted for the class size limits. Just because there are now more kids than teachers - boo-hoo. The kids shouldn't have to be a consequence of their parents' actions. At the time it was voted on and still today (I believe) the consensus of opinion is that the smaller the class size, the better odds of the students learning something. When we have high school grads that can't sit down and write a intelligent paragraph, I rest my argument. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom

Comment: 20-25 students seems small to me! from Gulf Breeze, FL by Jim

Comment: No there are too many children and young adults going into the work force without proper training. We owe a "good" education to your youth and unfortunately Florida is ranked quite low. Maybe if it is close then they should have a manditory Aid in the class room not another teacher. Day Care regulations is striker then the school system. from Navarre, FL by Laurie

Comment: You have confused the entire issue. It is about averaging which is entirely fair and is endorsed by the teachers! There should be no penalties to any county that averages an 80% class size that meets the law. from Milton by Cathy

Comment: Class size not only should be loosened but also be repealed in my opinion. Let the districts decide on student/teacher ratios according to what their budgets can afford. It's a good posibility that the time has come for more successful businessmen should be elected to the shhool boards. Former teachers have had their chances apparently without getting the results that are needed. from pensacola Fl by l

Comment: considering my experience with most kids here I hold little hope for most of them I don't feel classes up to thirty as they were when I was there will matter. The cream always rises to the top from pensacola, fl by michael

Comment: We only have so much money and I believe a few more students would help with cost reductions. from Fort Walton Beach, FL by Gerry

Comment: Interesting. The people vote on a ball park and there is no way to reverse the decision even though it is obvious that almost nothing voted on will be built. The people vote on reduced class sizes as a constitutional amendment and our law makers can't wait to reverse the decision so they have more money to spend on their own projects. Sad. Why didn't the law makers simply represent the people and hammer out their best decision? Because anything that could affect their political careers ends up as a constitutional amendment. Double sad. Makes one wonder why we need representatives when they refuse to represent their constituents. from Pensacola / Florida by Richard
