| 42.35% | Yes | |
| 57.64% | No |
Comment: Absolutely NOT!! It is a woman's choice and one that is not made easily. We need to keep the churches and government out of it!! We should be going forward not backward!!! from Pensacola, FL by Kathy
Comment: No, I do not believe a woman should be required to do this. By requiring this is another attempt for the government to run our lives. from Pensacola, FL by Steve
Comment: No, I belive that is an invasion of a persons right of privicey. It is a womens right to get an abortion. from Pace by Michelle
Comment: No, it's simply none of the government's business. from Pensacola / Fl by Rick
Comment: I definetly think they should have to view an ultrasound. There are a great deal of people that want to adopt, so instead of killing your baby, give it to someone that will love it and take care of it. It is a baby at conception. from Century, Fl. by Kathy
Comment: Out of site, out of mind. Anyone willing to end a life should be fully aware of what they are doing. from Cantonment by Jeremy
Comment: It would be another law that divides the "haves" from the "have nots." I believe in freedom of choice, and if the woman has decided, why should she be required to get an ultrasound that she cannot afford. The cost is both prohibitive and discrimatory. from Navarre, FL by Peggy
Comment: I believe that it's a woman's right to choose, it is her body. It's nobody else's business what a woman does with her body. from Navare Fl by Alex
Comment: yes I think this is a good idea,it will make a woman think twice. from molino,fl by kim
Comment: The state cannot show a overriding need for this. It will be ruled unconstitutional and is a waste of taxpayer money and time. by Dave
Comment: YES! The woman needs to 'see' the life she is about to destroy. That baby didn't get to choose it's mother, unfortunately, that same mother can choose to destroy the baby. So...YES...each mother needs to see what she is doing. from Milton, Fl by Debra
Comment: O.K. so we are back to mixing religious and state. 1st what is the defination of "women" if you are meaning an adult over the age of 18 they have had schooling and know stages of an fertal egg. 2nd if you are talking of a child, minor under age of 18. they have enough emotional difficulties it is "cruel punishment" to put them through that. If all these "religious fenaticts" want to continue to influence everyones life they need to go back to the "old testimond" where it states that "Only God can pass judgement and everyone will come before him eventually" to the best of my knowledge all religous facets have that viewpoint. The cost of it is a whole nother issue which makes it unrealistic also. Why can't people allow one to make desicions for themselves that is correct for them, science has guidelines so follow them, religiously that is between yourself and your "Own God" not the public!! from Navarre, FL by Laurie
Comment: Clinics are required to explain all options available to ensure women make an informed decision. To "force" all woman who choose abortion to have an expensive unnecessary medical test is just passive aggressive emotional bullying. imagine how difficult that decision would be anyway? *insult to injury IMO from Gulf Breeze, FL by Yvette
Comment: If the father paid for the ultrasound and drank a test tube of his own sperm this MIGHT be a better option. When are the fellows going to have to do anything but 'stand up and brush themselves off?" from Pensacola, FL by Janice
Comment: This is just some special intrest group trying to force women to do what they want them to do. Women are smart enough top know what an abortion is without having to have an ultrasound. from valparaiso, fl by robert
Comment: Absolutely not! First, it infringes on a woman's choice and freedom. Secondly, who pays for it??? The "people" pushing this bill??? I bet not!! from milton fl by mc
Comment: NO! Now we want the Goverment to legislate what you view on terms of your medical. How about your infant child is in a car wreck and mangled. Should you be reqired to view that child or exersize your right to have a closed casket? Pricks are trying to play on a personal right and the heart. In my opinion they can F.O. If you cant bomb an abrotion clinic like a low scum bag and kill people that way -how can one argue PRO LIFE and save a.....? Two faced Nazi tactics. from Pensacola,Fl by Flower
Comment: NO, NO, NO, NO! from Gulf Breeze, FL by fred
Comment: Because a person should see that what they enjoyed caused a human being to be formed, not just a blob of tissue, but a temporary dwelling place for a creation of God, who knows us before He forms us in the womb. That is what is written in The Word of God. That should mean something to everyone who is breathing. And, after what His Son did, we are not our own, but have been bought with a price, so we could live. God creates life. Man creates death. We need to stop this. It is just wrong to kill an innocent human being who cannot even defend themselves. A helpless little baby with nerves and feelings. A baby who moves about and even sucks its little thumb in the womb. As a retired R.N., I have seen many births. Life is an awesome thing. Death is ugly. We should all know what we are killing. from Walnut Hill, FL by Elizabeth
Comment: This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard of and I'm against abortion!! What about babies that die in utero? Should those parents have to see the ultrasound of their dead baby? from Pensacola by Michael
Comment: I personally am against abortion. Abortion shouldn't be used as a form of birth control. I dont think making those woman get an ultrasound will make a difference. Even if they decide to keep the child after viewing the ultrasound who's to say that if they give birth and keep the baby that they will regret the decision that was made to keep the child. In the end they could seriously harm the child or worse yet kill the child because they really didnt want the wonderful blessing they were blessed with. from crestview, florida by laura
Comment: Something has to be done so that expectant mothers can realize they are not just aborting a fetus, but are electing to kill a living human being who has no one other than their mother to protect them. from Pensacola/FL by J
Comment: This will let abortion be had for the ones that can aford it low income screwed from FWB Fl 32548 by Ed
Comment: sponsored by the republicans? (right wing christians? tea party folks?) sounds funny coming from a group that does not like government control and disliking government to tell them what to do? but of course the hypocrites love to dictate to others their mores and morals onto others? sighs! from p'cola fl by h
Comment: It might help to make an extremely important decision. from Milton by Tom
Comment: We do not need the state to sticking their nose into people's private business from Milton FL by Daniel
Comment: ABSOLUTELY NOT WASTE OF MONEY from PENS, FL by COOKIE
Comment: Women have to see that it's not a kitty or puppy, but an actual baby. So what is the price of a child in our society today? from pensacola, florida by S.
Comment: Ultra sound don't hurt the baby. I have one evry year @ the free clinic. I has nine children and they fine. from Pensacola by Kruneesha
Comment: Unless the clinic where the woman seeks to have the abortion provides the ultrasound as part of the services (most do), women seeking abortion would not be able to afford to pay for an ultrasound. It is a ridiculous bill, used once again to make abortion services out of reach for women who do not have enough money to get an ultrasound. It's another "right to choose" what to do regarding our own bodies that legislators are trying to control. Laws are already too restrictive. It's a hard decision for women in the first place. More time should be spent on taking care of children who are already here, being abused and abandoned. from Perdido Key, FL by Pat
Comment: YES and the father also .. they need to see this is a baby not a cell ..as so many want them to think... from R'dale, AL by Janet
Comment: Seeing an actual human being formed or moving around could stop someone from committing murder. If they don't want the baby, give up for adoption. Lots of people out there who can't have one would love the chance to love it like their own. I know..I adopted two. from Crestview, Fl by Audrey
Comment: Yes - but, the requirement should also extend to the father!! Lets get both parties into the act and have them make a decision based on both persons input. The father can/should bare some of the expenses - especially if the pregancy is to go to term - but, maybe by payinf anjd seeing the scan he can become more involved and accept some responsibilty. It takes two to "tango" so it should take two to decide. from Pensacola, FL by Jon
Comment: Absolutely not! I'd love to know just how many children have been adopted by these people trying to outlaw abortions!!! from Orange Beach, AL by Tony
Comment: I think they should and they should pay for it, they need to see that precious innocent child and know they didnt ask to be here. Before they make that dicision. killing a child isnt right! They should have thought of the consequences before being sexually active. from Pensacola by Emily
Comment: This is a right wing invasion of privacy from a side that keeps stating it wants less Government intrusion. What is wrong with these people? from Pensacola, FL by James
Comment: NO NO NO This is a personal matter and our government needs to saty out of it. from pensacola fl by james
Comment: Absolutely yes!!! I know several women who have had abortions and have lived to regret this choice! If they could see this perhaps they might make the choice not to do this abomination! from Perdido Key, FL by Carol
Comment: I am amused at the Conservatives who talk so loudly about getting government "off our backs." What they really mean is "get government off the backs of Big Business but keep it in our bedrooms." Any and ALL health care decisions should be between a woman -- or man -- and their physician. from Navarre, FL by Mary
Comment: Yes. If you can't afford an ultrasound and/or don't have insurance, don't get pregnant. It's not up to anybody else to pay for you to have a child. from Pensacola,FL by Mary Ann
Comment: They should get an ultrasound and see a living child and than maybe there would not be as many abortions. How anyone can abort a living person is beyond me.How they ever have another child and see what they did to the other one, killed a living person . from Pensacola Beach , fla. by Dottie
Comment: Unless the law will provide the funds for women to pay for the ultrasound, I think the law will cause many women to seek unsafe methods in desperate times and due to financial need. It's very '1984' to force women to view an ultrasound prior to getting an abortion. from Mary Esther, FL by Sarita
Comment: Yes i think it should be required to have an ultrasound befor a woman can have an apotion. Because it gives the mom a chance to see what is living and growing inside of her. If she cant aford a child there is always adoption instead of murder. And there is plenty of assistance out there that will help a mom and child in need. from Milton,Fl by Sabrina
Comment: Although I agree with a woman's right to have an abortion, I do not feel that the state has the right to force a woman to PAY for an ultrasound...if they can find a way to make it part of the abortion process without raising the cost then I think it would be a good idea for a woman to see it before deciding to go on with the procedure, but the state (or Fed. or any) government does not have to right to force any kind of medical expense on anyone. from Milton, FL by Deana
Comment: This is just another attempt by politicians to circumvent the law. Like it or not, abortions are legal and should be between a woman and her physician, not her state or federal representative. from Mary Esther, Fl by Arnold
Comment: Deciding to have an abortion is an extremely painful and difficult decision. Women who habitually use abortions as a form of birth control are extremely rare, comparatively. To a compassionate woman, giving up a child to adoption is more painful than an abortion. People who are against abortion have a religious believe that dictates their choice. Religious beliefs should not decide our laws. Tolerance is treasured Christian quality that is almost non- exsistent with most conservatives and Christians. The books of the Bible were selected among many books by leaders with political motives, and now it's politics that control our laws, not the will of the people. Tolerance is a disposition to tolerate or accept people or situations; all people should practice toleration and live together in peace all over the world, including this awful, judgemental bible belt. Humans as a species will never possess a complete understanding of every aspect of the universe. It's archaic not to humble ourselves to this fact. How can we think we can tell someone else what they should do with their lives? Live and let live people and realize how little you we really know, and remember, judge not, lest ye be judged, and every man has fallen short of the glory of God. Not some, but every one of us. from FL by Pamela
Comment: unafordable from fwb/ fl by harold
Comment: The baby's heart beat can be detected by 22 days after conception which shows this is a human being - not just a 'glob' of tissue from Milton, FL by Carol
Comment: Most clinics would provide the ultrasound for free, or would be included in the service. from Crestview by Patsy
Comment: This is a cruel and underhanded ploy by those who refuse to give females (especially those with lower incomes) the right to privacy and reproductive health care. from Crestview, FL by Kymberly
Comment: First of all Florida law should not allow for abortion at all. Second of all, if they see what they are killing, (a life) they may change their minds. $300-$1500 is a very small price to pay compared to someone's life. from Fort Walton Beach by Liz
Comment: It's doubtful, but maybe, just maybe - actually seeing will allow a woman to 'think' about the casual discarding of a life. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: Just another way to discriminate against women legally. from Pensacola/FL by Diane
Comment: What will they think of next? from Pace by Barbara
Comment: It's a baby, not a mass of blood and cells. If this law saves one baby's life, it is worth it. from Pace, FL by Tom
