Comment: Why should free medical care be given to people who do not pay taxes, why should we lose jobs to people who costs us decent wages because they will work for lower wages and most of that money does not stay in the country, why should we have to pay for schooling for kids who parents do not pay taxes which pays for the schools. Citizenship should be earned, not given away. from Niceville/Florida by NiteHawk
Comment: They shouldn't be here in the first place. Why do you think there are many Americans out of a job? They are cheap labor. They should be sent back home and our borders more fortified.

Comment: Pass the law, then enforce the law. It's the right thing to do. from Milton, FL by Bruce
Comment: If I went to a foreign country, I would be very much concerned to not break any laws in that country. I would always carry my passport, visa and any other document required by that country. Why should these millions of illegal people be allowed any slack unless both political parties want them to vote for them? It makes me furious that they even dare have protests against our gov ernment for enforcing our laws and La Raza brags they want to take back the southwest U.S.!!!!!!!! Hell, yes, I support a strict immigration law!!!!!!! My ancestors came here legally. These illegals' children go to our public schools and they all go to our emergency rooms and we pay for it! By 2042 they say the Hispanics will outnumber all other races in the U.S. I won't be around, but I fear for our country. Lee M. Donahue P.S. I would expect to learn the language of the foreign country where I went to live! from Pensacola, FL by Lee

Comment: simply a natter if national securitty. 0 from Pensacola by Wayne
Comment: Definitely favor it! Look, it is like this...when a police officer pulls you over, they ask you for your license. IF you don't have one, that is where they get the permission to see if you are an illegal or not. It is not like they are going to be setting up check points just to check. Although, they might! from Crestview/Fl by Tara

Comment: Everyone in the country should be here LEGALLY. If they are, they have nothing to worry about. The ones throwing a fit over this must have something to hide. from Pensacola, FL by Damien

Comment: We have Federal laws on the books already, let's follow them! No laws, no USA from Navarre by Connie
Comment: If the federal government will not enforce the laws on ILLEGAL imegration. The state has the right to protect itself under the tenth amendmet pure and simple. from PENS/FL by DAVID
Comment: If you are not here legally, you should be deported immediately. I have friends form other countries that came here legally and was difficult, but they did it legally. Every one should be subject to the same law. from Pensacola, Fl by John
Comment: WHEN I TRAVEL I HAVE TO OBEY THE LAWS OF THE CONTRY I AM VISITING. AS A MATER OF FACT IF I AM OVER THERE TO DO WORK I HAVE TO HAVE THE CONCENT OF THE GOVERMENT - USUALLY OBTAINED BY THE CUSTOMER. from GULF BREEZE, FLORIDA by SAMUEL
Comment: I agree with Arizona. All Law Enforcement Officers of ALL agencies, City, County, State and Federal should be required to enforce all laws where ever they find them being violated. I am in favor of it. I think it's way over due and I applaud Arizona for taking action. I will support Florida and the rest of the nation for doing the same. from Milton, Fl. by Thomas
Comment: if they are legal the check should not matter so check every one from pen fl by duke
Comment: I absolutly think that Florida should pass a law like Arizona's immigration law. This law would benefit Florida's economy as well as the economy as the United States as a whole if more states adopt and/or enforce similar laws. from Pensacola, FL by Ferron

Comment: I 100% support Arizona's new law. Obama thinks they acted "STUPIDLY" as he has said about our police officers and military. I hope Florida, Texas and New Mexico all adopt the same kind of law. California is a lost cause. from Pensacola by Richard
Comment: Why have A law if you are not going to inforce it? Either enforce it or change it. from Cantonment, Fl. by John
Comment: This should have been done years ago. from Gulf Breeze, Fl by Mary
Comment: Perhaps a review of the movie "Born in East LA" may be a good primer for those who favor the "Show Me Your Papers" law. I find it curious that many of those that would favor this type of law are so opposed to a "National ID" or a "National Drivers License" Having one verifiable document and database would obviate the necessity for laws of this type. Another point is that if the "person of interest" is in the act of committing a crime he/she is going to jail anyway and when their time is done, off they go to the INS. Perhaps we could re-institute internment camps for those brown, or black, or yellow, or olive skinned people who don't pass muster. Also, I do believe that most states already have provisions for sworn officers to verify ID without compromising unreasonable search provisions. We already have good laws that just need to be enforced not create new ones. More laws just mean more government, so where is the conservative "small government" mantra? from Gulf Breeze by Bill
Comment: Great idea. If they're legal, they won't have any problem. If you're not going to check them why check anyone for a license to build, drive, fly, work as a doctor, be a teacher, etc. Try to go to another country without papers. from Milton by TOM
Comment: Why are Sec. Nepolitano and Attorney General Holder still on the government payroll?!! from Pensacola/ FL by J
Comment: If I were stopped for a traffic violation, I would have to show my license, registration and proof of insurance. I would also be checked for any outstanding warrents. Why would this be any different? from Pace/ Fl. by Rick

Comment: What happened to a mojority rules. from Milton,Florida by Bill
Comment: I believe this is a great idea. It may bring the crime rate down. from Pensacola Fl. by April
Comment: way overdue. Lot of these people are hard workers, but laws should be enforced and are not, so his step should be taken. Take the politics out. from walnut hill by jeffrey
Comment: The Arizona Law simply states that they will enforce the Federal Law already in place, which the Obama Administration refuses to enforce. We absolutely need to control our borders. Deport ALL illegal immigrants. They are breaking the law simply by being here. And yes, they are ILLEGAL and not "undocumented workers". Its time to throw the Political Correctness garbage away. from Pensacola, FL by Cindy
Comment: This would be just one more step closer to becoming a police state, and if they do I hope they boycott Fl along with AZ. from Milton Fl by Dan
Comment: i strongly oppose! i, as a racial minority and a naturalized US citizen, will not feel comfortable to have to carry around my naturalization cert. (since the original cannot be copied and getting another one is out of the question by INS or dept of homeland security...) in the fear that it get taken away or lost. i cannot imagine but do see the time and day when the police can just "look" at you , especially around here, and determine that this person needs to be questioned based on the accent of speech or "skin" color...i just wonder why, this sort of issue came about when the illegals or legals immigrants started to be more non-whites/european...how is it that the "legal" immigration has put limits/quotas on those coming in from non-european countries? this sure does sound like a racist policy to me... from p'cola fl by h
Comment: Arizona Law is already Federal Law. Obama won't let them enforce it. Obama's aunt was a illegal in this country and Obama protected her until they made a under the table deal to get her legal. Obama himself was born in Mombasa, Kenya and he is a illegal also. The News Media protects him. They made up a (certificate of birth) for him, but no Birth Certificate. He is America's first illegal President and Socialist. We are in trouble in our own country. from Pensacola by Wendy
Comment: These racist hicks need to stop fighting the inevitable. We are taking back America. It was stolen from us. Open the borders NOW. Obama 2012! by Pedro
Comment: I totally agree with the law passed by Arizona. I think this country already has too many illegals here taking good jobs away from hard working Americans and it's time we sent them home where they belong from Pace,FL by Jeffory
Comment: Before I would say yea or nay on the passage of any law, I say we should enforce the laws we already have on the books, specifically: get the lawyers day jobs, so they can let the wheels of justice flow smoothly. If judges would only follow the law and not pay attention to the theatrical show given by lawyers, we'd probably be a whole lot better off. Incidently, has anyone ever stopped to think what happens to border crashers in other countries? Look at the hikers in Iran! I say AGAIN, let's enforce what we have before we institute more time-consuming "party favors". from Mary Esther, Fl. by Tom
Comment: I have no problems with immigrants coming to our country - not matter where they come from as long as they come in legally. Why should illegal immigrants be treated equal to or better than some of our own US citizens? from Crestview, FL by Nancy
Comment: without the hispanics we would still be rebuilding after ivan some latinos are feally good people from pensacola/florida by carl
Comment: Anyone who got into the US illegally, should be sent back from where they come. Take you kids with you. from Pensacola by Dave
Comment: SEND THEM ALL BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! from Gulf Shores Al. by R
Comment: Illegal aliens should be sent home. If they have no interest in being here legally, and there are many ways to do that, then they need to be sent home. We have the laws now but no one enforces them. If this helps our law enforcement to identify illegals when they arrest them, so bet it! They won't have time to 'profile' people who are not breaking any laws but those who ARE should be questioned. They should not have any 'rights' that legality allows. from Pensacola by JRoAnne
Comment: First of all, let's call the Arizona law what it is...a law against being hispanic. If it were really a law to help with enforcement of immigration, wouldn't it also say that people that speak with any European accent, that appear Canadian (because you can tell by looking right?) you will be stopped and questioned. I hope my home state, and yes I am a native and carry my birth certificate with me, would never do something so small minded and ignorant. We have a strong connection with people of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Spanish, Brazilian, Cuban, Jamaican, etc. in this state. If the paranoia continues, there may be a move to change the name Florida, it being of spanish origin. from Pensacola Florida by Angie
Comment: Lets stop just talking about the problem and start doing something about it. I'm not opposed to immigration but I very opposed to someone recieving the benefits without sharing in the cost. from Pensacola by Ron
Comment: does anyone know how mexico treats non residents,i would bet that you as a non citizen would have no rights whasoever,so whats the big problem??we are not to give non residents any rights either,c'on people!!if you are an illegal, you have no rights under the law-let us enforce the U.S laws from gulf breeze fl by ross
Comment: Keep people honest, obade the law set forth by the Federal Gorvernment, they can't do it alone from Pensacola,FL. by Ryan
Comment: If someone comes into the country illegally, they then have to work illegally and lie about many things to be able to live in this country. I agree with the immigration law in Arizonia. Come into our country legally and enjoy the benefits. Diane from Navarre, FL by Diane
Comment: why shouldnt we be able to check for legal immigration it is okay to check U.S.citizens for other drivers license or passports why cant we check for leagalization papers? this is not discrimination if you live in this country you are suppose to have proper i.d. on your person at all times anyway... from Ft.Walton Bch.,Fla. by Rose
Comment: I think the goverment needs to help the people who were brought here many years ago and help them become legal, otherwise they need to pay taxes like the rest of us. from Niceville, Fl.32578 by Helen
Comment: It is apparent that the prospective Governor as well as those in the Obama administration have not read the Arizona law! There is no discrimination in the Arizona law, and above 63% of Americans support the law as written in some polls. Being a Republican tea partier, I will not be voting for Bill McCollum for governor. from Penascola, FL by Ronald
Comment: I have to obey the laws here and when I am in other countries. from Pensacola, Florida by Vernon
Comment: law enforcement must enforce ALL laws from mary esther,fl by michael
Comment: I am in favor, however our authorities are already checking this, then they old the immigrant for I.C.E. for about 4 days then allow them to bond out. The only illegals that are deported are the violent offenders. from Ft. Waton Beach by Cindy
Comment: All natural born Americans are struggling to provide for their families. Let the illegals stay where they come from! Take them into custody and send them back. They take away the opportunity for those of us who are seeking the availability to provide for our families! from Milton, FL by Chris
Comment: Something has to be done to stem the flow of illegal aliens to the US. We can't keep supporting them indefinitely. No other countries allow illegals in as much as we do. from Pensacola, FL by Kay
Comment: They should go back to the way it used to be, when my grandparents came here. Needed to be sponsored, job available and learn English. Speaking your tongue in your groups is fine, but the language of this country is English from Milton, FL by Sandra
Comment: Better yet, Lets adopt Mexico's immigration laws. they are 10 times more strict than Arizona's from Pensacola, Fl by Andrew
Comment: They need to enact the same law that Az. has as soon as possible from Pensacola, Fl. by Tom
Comment: I favor this because too many local people have lost their jobs because illegals will do it cheaper. It's not quality work, but in these economic times, price matters. Maybe passing this law, is a good place to start taking our jobs back!!! from Pensacola/Florida by Ervina
Comment: As an American citizen and a former law enforcement officer, this law should have been in effect years ago - for every State. from Ft. Walton Beach, FL by Delores
Comment: YES from penacola,fl by sarah
Comment: Need to pass now from Fl by John
Comment: I don't think there is anything wrong with providing ID when you are stopped by the police....everyone has to do it. If someone is here illegally, it is unfair to those that are going through the legal steps to become a citizen. from Gulf Breeze, FL by Lynette
Comment: if you go on a cruise or airplane you have to show id or a visa , birth record. if you don't you don't go. just as our president I'll show mine if he shows his from pen/fl by patti
Comment: Why not? If illegals crossing the border is ok then let everyone out of jail! They broke a law, why not forgive them? Or is it just that some want slave labor that comes with the illegals coming here? from Pensacola, FL by Rob
Comment: I am STRONGLY IN FAVOR! There's nothing wrong with someone wanting to become a U.S. citizen - so long as they follow protocol and do so legally. But those who sneak across our borders illegally are nothing short of despicable - and the only thing worse is our country continuing to allow it. It's time we stand up and hold those accountable for illegal trespassing. Those who are serious about obtaining citizenship can be directed on how to do so legally. The same way thousands of others have done...decade after decade. from Pensacola, FL by Kristi
Comment: I propose a tougher law maybe like Iran/They would really hesitate to come to AMERLICA illegaly. from pensacola fl by jim
Comment: enforce our lasw from destin, florida by walter
Comment: Our borders need to be secure. from valaparaiso/ fl by robert
Comment: There should be no question regarding whether or not a Federal law should be followed. The Arizona law just gives the enforcement powers to the local police. We should have the same law in FL. from Cantonment, FL by Jeremy
Comment: Its enforcing the law. We have laws on the books, lets use them. from Pensacola FL by Marvin
Comment: It should have been done all along not just now. We all need to follow the law from pensacola,fl.32526 by joan
Comment: What ever happened to 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free?' from Pensacola, FL by Leah
Comment: Crack down on the people that hire them and they won't come if they can't get jobs. from Gulf Breeze by Ron
Comment: I think the law should be passed They are already criminals. We would only be enforceing the laws. they also take jobs our unemployed need. from Pensacola Florida by Sylvia
Comment: if there here illeagle to begin with isnt that breaking the law, yes check for papers, also when they go to the welfare office, wick office food stamps. they should ckech for papers we shouldnt be supporting them if there here illeagally from pensacola fl by pam
Comment: IF THEY ARE ILLEGAL, WHY NOT ARREST THEM! IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. IF I WERE ILLEGAL IN MEXICO OR ANY OTHER NATION, I WOULD EXPECT THE SAME TREATMENT. OBEY THE LAW from NICEVILLE, FL by RALPH
Comment: As a naturalized citizen I totally favor this law. Most other countries including Mexico already have this similar law with strict compliance and severe punishment. Only in America where opposition inject racial profiling to stop valid and effective immigration law. from pensacola by edwin
Comment: I think that it has always been the law to have identification on your person at all times, but was probably never enforced. I think that this is a very good idea. What is the problem with showing your ID? If you are stopped by a law enforcer they always ask for you ID. Nobody ever had a problem with it before as far as I know. from Pensacola,FL by Wanda
Comment: Count two vote in favor of this law. If the Feds would do their job then this would not be necessary. from Ft. Walton Beach, Fl by Harold & Louise
Comment: We must protect our legal citizens. This is one very tangible way to do that! from Pensacola, FL by Jean
Comment: Instead of passing harmful laws similar to Arizona’s, we should be looking at the root of the problem; poverty in Mexico. Since the early 90’s, Big American agribusiness , American corporations, and American Trade policies (NAFTA/CAFTA) have decimated local economies in Mexico and impoverished millions (simular to what BP is doing to the Gulf Coast now). When a person’s only choice is to watch his family starve or cross the border to support them, can you blame them if they choose the later? A militarized border and racist laws have not stopped them in the past 20 years, what makes us think more laws will stop them now. WEAR3 should do a little investigative reporting on harmful US Trade Agreements and their consequences within Mexico and tell us what you find. from Pensacola, FL. by Doyle
Comment: I do favor it because I am an American and we are fighting for jobs. The illegal aliens come here and take our jobs and everything else because they work under the table for cheap. If you are here legally that is fine but leave if you are not. I totally support the law. Keep our country our country. I think it is about time someone does something like this. Maybe she will run for "PRESIDENT". We sure need a new one. from Pace by Kay
Comment: NO! Nazi tactics in my book from Pensacola,Fl by Flower

Comment: We cannot afford the expense of these illegal people from Pace, FL by Mary Ellen
Comment: It's one thing to oppose the law, but do these same folks have a better solution to the problem? from Pensacola by rosemary
Comment: What part of "illegal immigrant" is hard to understand? from Cantonment, Fl. by Jeff
Comment: I thought Adolf Hitler was dead. The AZ Gov looks it. Dig up a dead body and vote them into office and this is what you get. She needs to get laid and have a week long rain on her face to take the wrinkles out of her charactor. I hope there are not any Jewish men, woman or children in AZ. God she looks like she hadnt had any in 200 years. from Pens,FL by Will
Comment: Of course. If a police officer stops someone because they have violated a traffic law or were caught breaking in, etc., as part of the process, the officer asks for identification. If you cannot produce it, it's just logical to suspect something is amiss. If a stopped person does not have ID, I don't see anything wrong with checking to see if the person is in the country illegally. After all, we do have immigration laws. Do we respect our laws or not? from Pensacola / FL by Rick
Comment: I would oppose it, ignore it, and do anything possible to prevent Florida Police officers from harassing innocent people. Immigration is Federal matter, and is none of Florida's business. by Tom
Comment: Everyone in this country should be required to carry postive ID and be willing to show it at any time. from Pensacola Fl by John
Comment: I do not know why there is not one already! from Pensacola Florida by Mark
Comment: why have laws if we can"nt enforce them/? from pensacola fl by shirley
Comment: Favor the law, wish we had Joe Arpai for sheriff. from Pensacola, Florida by Fear
Comment: YES I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT COME HERE TO FL OUR POLICE NEEDS TO PROECT US FORM ILLEAGLES THEY COME HERE ILLEAGLE WE GIVE ALL TYPES OF ASSANTS AND OUR OWN PEOPLEW THAT NEED THAT STUFF DONT GET IT IF YOU ARE HERE ILLEAGLEY YOU SHOUILD BE DEPORTED ANBD SENT BACK WHERE YOU CAME FORM THEY STELL OUR JOBS AND DONT SUPPORT OUR COUNTRY LET THE POLICE DO THERE JOBS I WOULD VOTE FOR THIS from VALAPARAISO FL by PAUL
Comment: Make them go back home. We can't even afford to pay/help our own citizens. It's totally absurd to me and all the people I've talked to that ANYONE would oppose it. from Pensacola,FL by Robin
Comment: What about the people that are trying to come to our country legally? Why reward the illegals breaking the law? from Niceville by Kethry
Comment: Yes. Arizona has adapted a federal law that is already the law of the land and made it their state law. Congress passed it, but doesn't realize it because they never read a bill. Arizona passed it because the sorry Congress won't enforce the law. The Reason? They think all the illegals will vote for Democrats if they get a chance, so they are just sitting back doing nothing. We have a very sorry leadership in Congress. Hurrah for Arizona. Florida should have the same law and every senator or representive thats against it, vote them out. from Pensacola by Denise
Comment: I believe it's already a federal law, so passing it as a state law is a moot point. from Pensacola, Fl. by carol
Comment: I've already made my comment. But I would like to add to it. We should simply adopt Mexico's imigration laws. That way they wouldn't be able to complain. from P[ENS./FL. by DAVID
Comment: I'm in favor of Forida passing a must stricter law then Arizona....But, in doing it must be worded with no loop holes and the officer making the arrest must know exactly what he doing..If he does anything wrong during the arrest he must be help responsible and etc.. Robert from Niceville, fl by Robert
Comment: I think every illegal needs to be sent back, you can't discriminate by deporting all illegals. They should not be allowed ANY services if they are undocumented period. from pace/fl by kevin
Comment: Yes. We have laws in place now. Lets enforce the ones we have before we are overrun with illegals. If you want in to the USA, come legally and we will welcome you. Come illegally and you are just another crook. from Pensacola, Fl. by Frank
Comment: An Oh well attitude must be changed. BP is a perfect example. Current Florida Immigration conditions are just as bad as the Oil Spill---Oh well! from Pensacola/Fl by Richard
Comment: When I made my comments in favor of passing this same law in FL it was not aimed at any one group. I do not care of you are Swedish, Canadian, Haitian, Cuban, Jamaican, English, etc. if you are here illegal you should not be here. If I visited any other country I would have to carry around my passport and visa papers if I was staying for awhile, what makes everyone else so special that they do not think they have to follow in the same rules in the United States. In Austrila(sp)you cannot not even work without a work Visa. This is not a racist view this is a view of legallity to be in and working in the US, I do not care if you come from the Planet Saturn, no visa or citizenship, no paying taxes you should not be here. from Niceville/FL by NiteMage
Comment: Lets do what the Federal Government doesn't want to do. If they're legal, I welcome them, If they're not they've broken a law that has been on the books since 1929. If I were to sneak into Mexixo, they wouldn't think twice about putting me in Jail. from Pensacola, FL by Vince
