Comment: I dont personally need the goverment to tell me what day to pray ,or pray any day . Or even if I can. But, this goverment has evidently decided they can tell you what day you celebrate with prayer. WRONG! Twisted government and president for even getting involved. What an "Obamanation" this United States has become. from Pensacola,FL by Flower
Comment: i think national prayer day is a good thing. from elberta, al by sequoyah
Comment: I do support the Day of Prayer. All religions pray so it is not just for one particular belief. I support the rights of those who worship as much as the rights for those who don't. from Pensacola, FL by Steve
Comment: Yes I support National Prayer Day because prayer is everything. The world would be better if people would pray more. This country was found on prayer. from Pensacola,Fl. by Barbara
Comment: Without "PRAYER" and "GOD" in our lives, we ARE lost.Put "IT" back in school, in our homes, and our HEARTS! from Summerdale Al. by Becky
Comment: Yes, We are a Christian Nation from Summerdale, AL by Paula
Comment: Umm? Is this a "Hallmark holiday"? Just checking- the constitution still has a guideline for separation of church and state... right? There are already enough businesses that are closed on Sundays. from Pace, Florida by michelle
Comment: this country has got to pray to god to help our nation. from al by ann
Comment: America's Founding Fathers filled their lives and our government with prayer, so it is certainly appropriate for us. They also gave us the right in the First Amendment to, "freely exercise" our religious beliefs, without any stipulations or restrictions. So the court is wrong and misguided in it's ruling. from Pace, FL by Wayne
Comment: Prayer has always been used in this country for guidance, protection and strength-even before we were a nation or a handful of colonies. The Pilgrims at Plymouth relied on prayer during their first and darkest winter. Our founding fathers also called for prayer during the Constitutional Congress. In their eyes, our recently created nation and freedoms were a direct gift from God. And being a gift from God, there was only one way to insure protection-through prayer. So, let's all pray for the federal judge who says this is unconstitutional! from Milton,Fl by Nan
Comment: I DO BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD KEEP THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER.WHAT IS OUR WORLD COMING TO? EVEN PEOPLE WITH VERY LITTLE FAITH MY PRAY THAT DAY. from GOODWAY ALABAMA by GRETTA
Comment: If the PEOPLE want to establish a National Day of Prayer, I have no problem with it, but government needs to keep it's nose out of it. from Cantonment, Fl. by Jeff
Comment: I think that part this county problems sarted when we took prayer out of school from cantonment,fl by lester
Comment: Yes...We always need prayer in our lives and to be allowed the freedom to pray in public should be nationalized as a special day!! from Milton,Fl by A.
Comment: I do not believe the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional and I do support the National Day of Prayer. The event has been in existence since Abrraham Lincoln and declared a natinal day of prayer by President Harry Truman. It was made a National Day of Prayer on the first Thursday of May by President Reagan. It is not connected with any church and anyone who thinks prayer is harmful or breaks a law should study the history of our country. Thank you. from milton fl by georgia
Comment: It should be a personal choice !!!!! from Pensacola, Fl. by J.
Comment: Yes I support this, it doesn't matter Christian, Muslim, Budist, Athiest, or Wiccan. Each person can pray to whom ever they choose that day. This is what our country was founded on was freedom of religion. from Jay, FL by Michele
Comment: I do support the National Day of Prayer, we have days that are designated for everything else. If all the fundamental Christian values in the United States are stripped away Christians will no longer have freedom of religion. If you don't want to pray then simply don't pray!! from Pace, FL by Tammy
Comment: Our government's duty is to protect our constitutional rights. Practice of religion is a form of freedom of speech. The constitution says that our government can not engage in its own form of religion. However, the government does not engage in religion while protecting the People's right to practice religion. from Milton, Florida by Jeremy
Comment: Yes, our country was founded on faith in God, and we have been abundantly blessed, so we as a nation should be proud to gather for a National Day of Prayer. from Pensacola, FL by Clare
Comment: We know that something doesn't come from nothing. And it is a documented fact that those ill who are prayed for heal much faster. If we don't begin to pray again as a country I fear for us. We should keep our national day of prayer. I pray for peace in our country and that our country comes back to God. from Cantonment, Fl by Terry
Comment: this is just another attempt to silence christians by those who do not believe nor want to believe that this nation was built on "in God we trust". from pensacola,fl by susan
Comment: First, prayer can be to anyone or any god you wish. If a person wants to pray to Ken and Barbie, that's their business. The day of prayer is not the real issue. The issue is, the antagonists don't want Christian values practiced. This country was based on Judeo-Cristian beliefs without restricting other religions. In other words, our founding fathers were Christians and wrote the Constitution to allow freedom of religion; not freedom from religion. Secondly, When will we, who know the truth, stand up to the anti- Americans who are using the judicial system to hijack our Capalistic/Democratic/FREE soceity? It wont be free long unless we speak up every chance we get!! District Court Judges are not law makers. Get rid of them if they abuse their office. Freedom is not free!!! Seperation of Church and State is an incorrect interpretation of our Constitution. IT DIDN'T SAY THAT!!! PLEASE TELL AMERICA!!!! The sad thing is, most media people are controlled by the same bureaucracy that believe as the ACLU and these District Judges do. That's why we dont hear what I'm saying on the air. By the way, I'm an American, a Christian, but not a religious fanatic. Jesus was against the religious people of His day who didn't believe He was the Son of God.... I'll be waiting to hear my opinion or other like opinions on the air. Thank you. from Niceville, FL 32578 by Calvin J.
Comment: Yes, I do support the National Day of Prayer. If the US keeps turning it back on God, he'll remove us from his grace and the US will be no more. from Cantonment, Fl by Larry
Comment: the goverment today wants to take GOD out of everything, but do they not know that GOD created everything even their jobs, and thats why the world is in the predicament its in because they want to take GOD out of it.do they not know that without GOD NOTHING IS POSSIBLE.BUT WITH GOD EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. SO they should try talking to GOD and they only way to do that is through prayer. from pensacola, fla by stephanie
Comment: If this country turns it's back on God (and Israel), we are, sooner or later, going to regret it. With all our collective sins in the past, keeping God in our lives and protecting His chosen people have been our saving grace. from Jay FL by Cindy
Comment: I really believe this is most of our problems we've lost our right to pray ect and not doing much to stop it I say yes !yes yes from Holt Fl by Mavis
Comment: Yes, prayer is part of the country's heritage. I don't share the belief of many in NW Florida that there is only one way to pray - and object to government support of s single religion. In my experience, the National Day of Prayer is supportive of all Americans' beliefs. Those who want to eliminate religion from the public square are a tiny minority who are trying to impose their views on the vast majority. from Pensacola / FL by Rick
Comment: We know as a matter of historical fact that a great number of the founding fathers believed and practiced a faith based on a "Creator" and “God” to which they prayed and is made evident in the “Declaration of Independence” itself in the first 2 paragraphs. They did not make or intend laws to force anyone to pray or penalize any person who doesn’t, and neither does the National Day of Prayer. 36 U.S.C. § 119 “The President shall issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a National Day of Prayer on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.” from Daphne by Scott
Comment: yes I do support a National Day of Prayer. Prayer is powerful and we need more of it!! from pensacola by angie
Comment: Go ahead and keep pushing God out of the picture and see where it gets us. How could taking away a day of purposeful peace be beneficial to anyone? If the majority of Americans have faith that God exists, why is this even an issue? Why are those with no faith so afraid of us? from Cantonment by Rachel
Comment: no not really...what i cannot understand is that alot of these folks who are out there protesting about "big government" intruding into their lives, blah, blah, blah...but they have no problems about imposing their political/religious views and doctrine upon others? government backed religion...isn't that what pace high school has been doing all along? conservative christian making people of other religions miserable/"illegal" with the backing of the administrators, student bodies, etc...there needs to be a complete separation of church and state...otherwise, there will never be any sort of "equality" based on religion... from p'cols fl by h
Comment: This country was founded on Christian principals and our founding fathers set aside a day of prayer and thanksgiving to God. Our country is now facing so many problems we need to seek God and pray for healing. Look what has happened to our schools since prayer has been forbidden. Children are killing children, respect for those in authority and each other has been smothered and laid aside, chaos is the norm. Prayer is the only hope for America! from Milton, FL by Carol
Comment: I fear for this Nation. If people are so certain there is no God - why does it hurt for us to pray? Bleassed is the Nation whose God is the Lord. from Pensacola by Dana
Comment: why should judges deny our religious beliefs and what is their beliefs that denys ours from navarre,fl by claude
Comment: I support it - however, I don't need a national day set aside for me to pray - I pray every day. from Pensacola by Robin
Comment: Of course I support a day of prayer. "Woes be...." to the skeptics, atheists, and other assorted non-believers. Funny isn't it; we go out of our way in this country to accomodate every single cause or group (including/especially illegals), but when it comes to the public acknowledgement of our Supreme Saviour, not even the duly-elected President of these United States will do so, for Lord only knows what reason. I"ll stop it here, so I can regain my composure. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom

Comment: Isn't prayer part of freedom by the constition (The right for Assembly)People can assemble in a peaceful manor at abortion clinics & we have National Smoke Out day. Why can't the children, of our Lord & Saviour, have the right to pray? from Pensacola by Dawn
Comment: I say NO... Everyday is national pray day for those who wish to pray... Obama please stay out of others business. from Niceville Fl by Robert

Comment: prayer needs on the job&in the homes from pensacola/fl by isaac
Comment: As long as it is not mandatory and all religions can participate. But not any religion where animal/human sacrifice or abuse of any animal/human is involved. When that happens you are violating the rights of that animal/human which is against the law. from Niceville/FL by NiteHawk

Comment: It's part of our Christian heritage of our nation. from Pensacola,Fl. by Craig
Comment: A law establishing a National Day of Prayer does NOT promote any particular religion. It promotes prayer. I can't think of any of the world's major religions that does not have prayer. I am still looking for the part of the Constitution that says "Separation of Church and State". I have found the "freedom of assembly and freedom of worship" parts of the First Amendment. from Niceville, FL by Edward

Comment: National Day of Prayer is intended for all religions, not just Christians. You can pray or not pray, it is your choice, not the governments. In God We Trust is inscribed on all our money. It was put there by our fore fathers and needs to stay. God is still alive and waiting to hear from his people in this United States of America, founded by God. from Pensacola, Fl by Martha
Comment: I don't understand why there are people who protest this. This is tradition and should stay especially in this time of all things that are happening around us. Look around us, disaster happens, I believe God is very upset with people especially when they do not acknowledge Him. from Pensacola by Alma
Comment: KEEP ON PRAYING FOR THE USA. from NAVARRE by RUDY
