Comment: This would be another way to show lawmakers, that they made a decision, not based on the voices of the constituency from Perdido Beach, AL. by Bill
Comment: I find it a gross miscarriage and an abuse of the Office of Atty General to file such a lawsuit. As for requiring people to have health insurance, Why Not? We require Auto Insurance, Home insurance (if you have a mortgage). This is really a "frivolous" lawsuit designed to make a few Attys a lot of my tax money. What a waste of resources!!! from Pensacola, FL by James
Comment: Absolutely not. It is just anothere example of polititalization of an important issue by an Attorney General running for Governor. from Pensacola, Fl by Earl
Comment: Prominent national jurists are quoted as saying that such a law suit is not sustainable. Why waste more of our tax dollars on such an act that smacks of disgruntaled revenge. from Milton, FL by Paul
Comment: We heard this same argument during the Civil Rights legislation. They lost then and they will lose on this one. from Foley.Al by James
Comment: If only the Republicans had made an effort to work with our president - Mr. Obama - we would then have a health care bill more people would like. Refusing to partipate in decisions, and then filing a lawsuit because you don't like the outcome seems like what little kids do when the game is not going their way -go home to mom and complain. from Florida by Marcy
Comment: Absoutely! This bill goes against the will of the people and was rammed through with back room deals in smoke filled rooms. from Destin Fl by Mahlon
Comment: Just another way the goverment gets control of us. from PACE FL by LARRY
Comment: Yes, I favor a suit. I do not want the federal govt telling me what kind of car I have to buy either. Never mind a tax as a penality if I don't buy their auto. "Land of the Free" is going away. from Gulf Breeze/FL by Don
Comment: You cannot punish one who cannot afford health insurance, when they are struggling to pay property taxes, renew tags, and buy food. What kind of country is the U.S. turning into? from Milton/Florida by Tiffany
Comment: What happened to our freedom of choice,so many people have given their lives for us to have. Let the senators that voted for this law, put their own money up for free clienics. What about the homeopathic people that don't use the medical system don't they have a choice too? This is socialism and needs to be stopped. There's already a law that says the emergency rooms have to take you, whether you have insurance or not. I think the federal government has gotten too careless with our money. Personally I think all the "yes" voters on this bill have gotten too be fat cats on our money, and needs to be striped of their retirement previlages when we retire them from their post this next election. from Milton, Fl. by Caron
Comment: America with never be the America we once knew an loved. I actually fear our elected officials now. they are out of control and corrupt from pensacola by jim
Comment: When 68% of the U.S. citizens polled the outcome did not support Obamacare. Next we woked all our life to have a little social security pension- our goverment screwed that pooched and borrowed on it to death- next we pay medicaid taxes each week out of our paychecks to cover that screw up- now we have howdy doody as president who is taxing everyone even if you already have insurance you have to pay for to cover this Obamacare crapola- that everyone will be taxed 4 years before it will even START to go into effect ( by the way asshole Obama will not be president at that time) then when all the social security, medicaid, workplace insurance, and Obamacare will be coming out of your check each week-and the prick president has the balls to say you will be fined if you dont have insurance? What a travesty of justice and bending over of the American people who did not get to vote on this immigrant idiot supporting president to give amnesty to all immigrants, by the way dip s&*T hasnt provided squat for jobs. Just a popularity contest on the Oprah show. I am not republican nor democrat- but I see the democrats standing in line here for a free chesse givaway at all costs. To the assmonkey democrats to call a legal process lawsuit "frivolous" shows they dont believe in democracy. from Pensacola,Fl by Flower
Comment: All McCollum is going to do is spend a lot of the state's money in a throwback to the 1960's and the Civil Rights "States Righters" and the Pre Secessionists of the 1850's. I don't see any difference between having to pay income tax, Social Security and having to help pay for medical insurance. Apparently these people who are fighting HCR have never had a medical situation that wasn't covered by insurance, or have always been able to get insurance. This country should join the rest of the world and begin to make sure all have access to decent medical care. Even Rush Limbaugh has promised to move to Costa Rico if this passes, probably because even Costa Rico has universal health care. from Pensacola, FL by Carey
Comment: Everything thst csn be done to reverse the damage that the Healthcare Bill will do MUST be done. by Lee
Comment: The bill is a travesty, trampling on personal rights and undermining America's potential for decades. I'm ashamed of Congress. from NC by Al
Comment: Every politician that voted for this bill should be named in all newspapers country wide. This will see that we all know who bestowed this terrible bill upon us. from Pensacola, Fl by Franklin
Comment: i FEEL WE SHOULD NOT BE FORCED TO HAVE THIS INS REFORM i THOUGHT THIS WAS WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT I DONT WANT TO PAY MORE TAXES I PAY FOR MY INS I DONT WANT TO PAY FOR OTHERS, I cant even get a job, Im an older person which is bad enough because they want young kids
Comment: If a person could afford a fine, don't the Democrats think they would have health insurance? My daughter went without health insurance for quite a while due to pre-existing conditions. Since the pre-existing condition portion of the bill won't be in effect for some time yet for adults, how is she supposed to get past that hurdle to avoid a fine now. How can the Democrats possibly justify passing a bill that the President wanted when they are obviously aware the people did not want it. If they really believed this bill was what the American people wanted then they would not be so worried about being re-elected! from Gulf Breeze, FL by Julie
Comment: The government has no business messing with our healthcare. The Constitution gives no authority in the matter. from Cantonment, Fl by Tom
Comment: this bill goes again all that America is and the people who die for it,this Obama-nation need to be kick out and so dose this bill.as true american we should demand that he show his birth records sent he STILL haven't done so. from bay minette /alabama by Robert
Comment: We do have a constitution. (Also, you should look at the hydrant situation in Navarre.) from Navarre/FL by Jim
Comment: talk about a waste of tax-payers MONEY did they even read the health care legislation? or are they protecting corporations and businesses more than the actual citizens of this state? from p'cola fl by h
Comment: Just what health care needs more lawyers! from Navarre by Roy
Comment: I support any efforts to stop Washignton from violating the constitutional rights of Americans. from Pensacola by Joella
Comment: govt should not mandate anything from the people, they have forgotten "for the people" they are to serve and protect us.... only job , not welfare.... IRS getting involved makes matters WORSE! our freedoms that have been fought for with American Blood are gone! Stand up America!
Comment: This lawsuit has no, zero, nada chance of effecting the just passed healthcare legislation. We pay these people to constructive business of the people. I suggest they do so. Speaking of Bill McCollum, He was one of the House Managers that worked to impeach President Clinton, even though Americans overwhelmingly said not to proceed with an impeachment hearings from Pensacola, Florida by David
Comment: Yes, I am so sick of this adminastration shoving their progressive issues down our throats. I want our America back, FOR THE PEOPLE, By THE PEOPLE. More lies and dirty dealing from these liberals idiots. from Pace by Judy
Comment: The states ultimately have delegated rights passed to them by the Constitution and have every right to challenge the Federal government when they fell those rights have been infringed upon. from Pensacola by Tim
Comment: I think that as long as the elected U.S. Congress refuses to listen to the people that elected them, we the people have every right to take our legit gripes to the judicial system. Maybe our elected judges might just have the guts enough to listen, unless of course they don't fear losing their jobs either. If we as Americans let this chance (in November) to "clean House" pass us by, then we the people are forfeiting our say in what happens inside the beltway. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: We the people DO NOT want this health bill. If it is so great, then ALL Americans should have exactly the same health coverage. The govern -ment keeps their premium plan... not at all like what they are shoving down our throats. PLUS we get to pay for ours and THEIRS! (TO INCLUDE THEIR FAMILIES) This is not what America is truly based on. How dare they treat the people of America, whom they are "supposed" to be representing like this. I hope every last congress- person who voted for this bill gets voted out. Americans VOTE!!!!! This bill does not represent a Government of the People, by the People and For the People! from Navarre, Florida by jeff & linda
Comment: How dare these hicks question our dear leader. Health care is a right under the constitushun. Tax the rich folks for our doctor bills and our mortgages. Put these anti- obama people in re-educashun camps. We voted for change! from East Hill by Mike
Comment: I hope the republicans can win this. I'm tired of paying for everyone that does not what to work and make it on their on. I tired of my taxes going up and up,when I do not get anything in return. We have medicare and Medicaid already for the ones that need help ( update it ) use it, and DO NOT USE MY TAX DOLLARS TO PAY FOR ABORTIONS !!They say this will gave 31 million Americans health care. We have 31 million young people that has made their on minds up that their do not wish to buy it at this time in their live. This is a free country I think or was? I'm a Democrats that voted Republicans last time and will again and ask everyone to do the same , so we can take back our country .. from Jay Fla. by David
Comment: To much underhanded stuff. I believe the President Lies and I think he is trying to transform our country to a socialist type company like Venezuela and Chavez. I'm on Medicare and TriCare for life. Both face big cuts. from Pensacola, FL by V.J.
Comment: A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS OBJECT TO THIS BILL. IT HAS NO MERIT. from MILTON / FLORIDA by DANIEL
Comment: No. This bill will bankrupt the states that are already struggling to close huge deficits. In addition the CBO score is a total fraud. For example, the overall savings that are included in teh forecast include those from the change in the student loan program being taken over by the Department of Education. The revenue gained from that change is used to offset other losses. However it fails to include in the projection that impact from student loan defaults on future revenues. These liabilities are now being assumed by the govwernment. Also the failure to add the "doc" fix to medicare and choosing to include it in another bill is completely dishonest. It fails to shopw the impact of the $300B that will be needed for the fix. By doing it in another bill, it shields the CBO from having to ad dthis to the score. 10 years of deficit reduction? Keep dreaming! from mobile, al by ken
Comment: For Florida to be strapped for money this seems like a waste. I can not help but think this is politically motivated and jumping on the bandwagon. from Milton, Florida by Susan
Comment: i don't think the government should be in the position to force people to "buy" something that they cannot afford, or don't want from cantonment, fl by linda
Comment: If this fails or success How much is that going to cost? from Destin by William
Comment: I am disgusted with the amount of disrespect the republicans, the christian coalition, and the "TeaParty" have shown this President. I am ashamed of being a Southerner. Funny, where was this venom over sending our young people to die in an unessesary war? Legislation such as this can be altered, how many parents cam get their kids back? Where are your priorities? It seems the fight is against anything Obama, it reveals the ignorance and intolerance of southerners and is nothing to be proud about. If we go in and sue as a state we will really be stamping the word ugly racist on our foreheads. Wake up, legislation geared to save people deservesjust as much of a chance as the Bush policies that have resulted in thousands of young Americans dying in war....I choose Obama's policies, and god help him rise above the ever ignorant south. from Foley,AL by Janet
Comment: I think the Health Care Reform will benefit the country and should be allowed to work. I think people will be plesantly surprised once they realized its benefits. from Pace, FL by Fernando
Comment: Even though some people would benefit from the law, it is unconstitutional. A line needs to be drawn to stop this government from over-reaching into the lives of citizens, and trampling all over states rights. from Pace, FL by Wayne
Comment: Health care reform is the best thing since medicare. Republican's are just being total jerks. We sure have lots of money for two wars but can't take care of our sick. from Milton by Dan
Comment: How do these people think that if someone cany afoord insurance that they will have the money to pay a fine. Most families are strapped now without being made to purchase insurance it is outragious. from Pensacola by Patricia
Comment: This just stinks.... from Pensacola by Michael
Comment: car insurance is mandatory, health care is more inportant. tere is no free lunches. tom s. from century/fl by tom
Comment: Absolutely, or have we lost that right also, tell me Mr. Obama and all your liberal supporters! from Pensacola Fl by Bobbie
Comment: I am neither a republican or democrat anymore, but NO I don't support a lawsuit. It's frivolous and the money they are using for the lawsuits could go somewhere in the state. They should put their efforts in finding ways to come with the money they'll be paying into medicaid in 4 years. from Gulf Breeze by Terry
Comment: I AM FOR THE HEALTH CARE... HEALTH CARE COST HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF CONTROL.IT'S TIME TO STOP BEING GREEDY AND DO WHATS BEST FOR PEOPLE AS A WHOLE. NO ONE WANTS TO PAY FOR HEALTH CARE UNTIL THEY NEED IT AND THEN THE ONE PAYING FOR OTHERS HEALTH CARE IS YOU!THE MAIN PEOPLE CONCERNED ARE THE ONES WHO ALREADY HAVE INSURANCE OR IF THEY ARE EMPLOYED BY THE MEDICAL FIELD. from GULF BREEZE FL by DAN
Comment: ou bet I want the Sate of Florida to challenge this heath care bill. I want it stopped now. from PENSACOLA,FL by MARILOU
Comment: I feel totally betrayed by our congress who ignored the pleas of many citizens to defeat or slow this action down until we AND congress could better learn of its contents. We gave been railroaded. I hope there will be an upsurge of citizens now to bring back our old values and the beliefs on which our wonderful country was formed. from Pensacola FL by Neta
Comment: In addition to the unconstutionality of it, this national health care bill will also lead to a higher unemployment rate because it forces small businesses of more than 50 employees to provide health care insurance to their employees. The majority of them are already struggling to make ends meet. This bill makes no sense and most Americans were and still are against it! from Pace, FL by Dana
Comment: If this bill is as great as they say why not in act it NOW. They said 181 people die a day due to a lack of health insurance. If we wait 4 years to in act the bill that means another over 260,000 more will die. If is that great make it happen NOW!!! from Pensacola by Mike
Comment: The Republicans need to back off. They are an international embarrassment. from Pensacola, FL by john
Comment: Yes I think this is the way handle it now, I don't however believe it should ever gotten this far. This bill was jammed in under the table on a Sunday special session so Obama could get his cronies in without all reps being there to get it passed, Chicago politics as usual in my opinion. Let's concentrate on something simple like "Obama lets see your American birth certificate" from milton/fl by Tim
Comment: I totally support this lawsuit. This healthcare reform bill is absolutely unconstitutional. It is not going to help the middle or low class families to have to pay for what they can't afford. from Pensacola/Florida by Ervina
Comment: The way they passed this bill was unconstitutional. They should have started over on a bill everybody could agree on. from Milton Fl by John
Comment: Healthcare reform is needed, but not the massive bill signed by President Obama today. The main objectives of today's bill is to expand the federal government and make more Americans dependent on Washington, rather than themselves and their community. Fundamentally, it makes a laughing stock of those who have worked their entire lives, paying their bills, savings and investing for their family's future. The Obama administration wants to bash such habits and redistribute those 'ill-gotten' gains to others. from Pensacola / FL by Rick
Comment: Who is going to pay for this lawsuit? Will Bill McCollum donate his salary and personal assets to paying for the suit? Does he feel that strongly that this is action appropriate and that it can be won - or is he just gambling taxpayer dollars? from Niceville, FL by Bruce
Comment: While I do agree that taxing people for not carrying health insurance is, or should be, unconstitutional. However, I find it ironic that Florida, who requires it's citizens to pay 'fees' for property insurance that they don't use, is leading the fight. from Pensacola, FL by Ellen
Comment: For a political party that consistently rails against frivololous lawsuits this surely seems a dubious endeavor. from Pensacola, FL by Jim
Comment: This is just the beginning of the destruction that this adminstration has planned for our country. Will we survive another 3 years? from Gulf Breeze,Fla. by Joanne
Comment: Yes, this should be challenged. Too much effort put into getting this passed one way or another when the majority of actual citizens are against it, without enough consideration for what major problems it could cause. As americans we are already taxed into poverty. With all the waste going on in Washington and all the so called unclaimed (and wasted Grant money) and all the money they already get from us- healthcare could be free to everyone anyway- if we have money to take care of the illegals and other immigrants- we should be able to take care of the natural born citizens first. from brewton alabama by elizabeth
Comment: this is a waste of tax money. it is now law so lets enjoy it.
Comment: I support it whole-heartedly! We true Americans are tired of the gov't making all our decisions for us, and then raising taxes to pay for their hare-brained schemes. from Andalusia, AL by Trudie
Comment: This is a country founded on freedoms. Citizens free to choose for themselves what products are best for their families. With this bill there is no choice. Government forcing it's will upon citizens and then told you will buy what we want or the IRS collect a penalty, surcharge, or TAX if you will. Is this not why the Pilgrams left England in first place? To build a free country? from Pensacola, Florida by Arlene
Comment: Yes, we should do all we can to repeal this bill. It's not good for the people of Florida or for the Country. from Shalimar, FL by Mike
Comment: It violates a number of amendments and should be challenged by all states from Crestview, Florida by Vincent F
Comment: Pensacola is a Republican strong hold that's the reason why Mr McCullum filed the lawsuit in Escambia County, why don't the Republicans work tomight the bill stronger, together we stand divided we fall. from pensacola fl by anthony
Comment: Congratulations to President Obama and the Democrats for passing legislation that will benefit so many Americans !!!! I support them 100 %. We all know what all this "state sovereignty" talk is code for...takes me back to the 60's. from Mary Esther FL by Diane
Comment: There are those out there who CHOOSE not to have health insurance. I believe we have fought this war already, something about States Rights! from Milton, FL by Mike
Comment: An overwhelming yes. A takeover by the government that is opposed bt 55% of the people must not prevail! from Ft. Walton Beach FL by Roger
Comment: Republican Attorney Generals are willing to spend billions of our dollars just to make sure President Obama fails. These people have hidden motives, they don't care about the people's needs. Give the plan a chance, then vote in 2012 if you don't like the plan or the President! from Milton by Jeff
