| 8.1% | Yes | |
| 91.89% | No |
Comment: Guns are not bad.We raised 6 children and always had loaded guns in the home. But they were taught proper respect for handling firearms from Baker by John
Comment: That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Gun ownership should never be a means to disqualify a couple from adopting. Gun ownership is a huge responsibility, as is adoption. Personally, I am pro-gun and pro-adoption. from Pensacola, FL by James
Comment: I think asking for this information is a violation of your right to privacy. Last I checked, gun ownership is legal for non-Felons, so they have no right to ask about it or use it as a qualifier from Cantonment by Ed
Comment: Of course it should not be a factor. Why penalize someone for not owning a gun?? Some people chose not to own a gun, and that is their business. This big brother stuff has gone WAY TOO FAR!!! from Milton by Jim
Comment: Gun ownership should have absolutely nothing to do with adoption. I put it on the same level as asking about religion. We have the right to practice whatever religion we want. We also have the right to own firearms. from Milton by Bill
Comment: Definitely!! Those homeowners that have guns in their homes provide a much safer home for children than those who choose not to live within the safety of firearm protection. from Pensacola, Fl by Franklin
Comment: Gun owner ship is no different than owning Power Tools or Yard Equipment. It is just an object that has no baring on if you will make a good parent or not so No Drop the silly question from Pensacolla Florida by Ed
Comment: Only if it's true "that milk leads to Heroin". from Pensacola,FL by Robert
Comment: The 2nd Amendment is the law of the land, so any adoption agency asking these types of questions are violating the civil rights of the person being questioned. from Baker,Fl. by William M.
Comment: What kind of question is this. Are you saying Ronald Regan shouldnt have had kids? President Bush? Only a .5 I.Q. idiot would have passed any bill prohibiting one to protect their family.Adopted or not. Need to shut down the adoption agency who was asking the questions. And the government who knew about it all these years. Money passed under the table again. from Pensacola,FL by Flower
Comment: No, Many people own guns for pleasure or home protection. It does not mean they are unfit. They should however keep it locked up out of the child reach. from Pace,Fl. 32571 by Samantha and David
Comment: My Son has 2 children, he also has many guns. He is an avid Hunter. He does keep them locked safely in a cabinet. from Pensacola, florida by Gail
Comment: OWNING A GUN MAKES AN UNFIT PARENT LIKE OWNING A CAR MAKES A DRUNK DRIVER, LETS GET REAL!!! from CENTURY FL by RICKY
Comment: you should have to own a gun to adopt. it shows resonsposablity. from pensacola fla. by bill
Comment: Gun ownership is not a crime, so why sould it be a factor here? from Navarre,Fl by Tommy
Comment: Why don't you ask something really hard, like is it necessary to be a man to be a father, or the necessity of being female to be a mother? Your taking advantage of your constitutionally guaranteed right to bear arms or the Second Amendment hasn't a blessed thing to do with parenthood. What you are asking in effect: my father was a police officer, ergo he didn't have the right to raise his nine children? I don't think so; following that logic, either we would have no law enforcement personnel in this country, or no second amendment; either of which would contribute to sheer and utter maddness and kaos in this country. from Mary Esther, Fl. by Tom
