Comment: Absoltutely. C'mon folks this is 2010. Most everyone would be surprised if they knew how many military and police personnel, as well as people around them are. Gay, Straight, with or without skin pigmentation, we are all the same, and children of God. from Pensacola, FL by Dave
Comment: I spent 30 years in the Navy and I know the problems that having gays serve openly will generate. The need for separate facilities aboard ship, as we have to separate male and female sailors now. I also can imagine the impact of seeing or service members of the same sex in uniform holding hands or whatever in public. No thanks. from Pensacola by Rodric
Comment: Considering that our country was founded on the principles of freedom and equality, to even be having this controvery flies in the face and makes a mockery of those ideals. from Pensacola, Florida by Janis
Comment: Xxx from gulf breeze FL by denny
Comment: i think i is a good idea. as people say that we are "at war" then it make logical thing to need every man and woman to serve our country without any prejudice or creed... from p'cola fl by h
Comment: we need to keep homo's out of the service.the men have to be in close contact on the battlefield, it could get quite unconfortable for the soilder that is straight from pace by white
Comment: Just as long as Gay Men and Women are protected and can fight proudly then I do support the repeal of this this silly policy! You know we would hardly have a military if they asked all the gay, lesbian, and bi-sexual soliers/offiers to stand up and disbark! Thank you to all you Military both Straight and Gay for protecting our Wonderful Country that is Home of The Free and Land of the Brave! from Marietta, GA Milton,FL by Steven
Comment: We should have an all gay military. Then we could have peace on earth. They are much more sensitive. from East Hill by Mike
Comment: This is prime example of whats wrong with our government. They are decisive on anything, I call our depleted government a bunch of "flip -flops that wear us on the bottoms of their feet. from Pensacola,Fl by Flower
Comment: Personally, I would like to see a digression to pre-Clinton days, when it was not allowed. Having served during those times, all of active duty seemed to get along well together; those who were 'gay or lesbian' still got away with their preferences, but they knew enough to be discret about their actions. Those who got caught or 'outed' just got discharged and that was that. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: Until our government/society finally recognizes same sex marriages, repealing the ban will not do anything substantial! Let's say that they do repeal it, then what? Do these people have any more rights than their counter parts in society? from Pensacola, FL by John
Comment: Yes in this day and age that should not even be an issue there are other battles to fight obviously. I am ashamed that people still are homafobic look at reality and who is out there with positive productive lives that may have different personal preferences. We are not a comunistic country we should not dictate ones own personal views on others. I am disappointed with somethings we as Americans choose to make issues of and on top of that to punish people for their feelings. from Navarre, FL by Laurie
Comment: It would be bad for morale in the military, especially aboard submarines and small ships. from Pensacola Fl by Olin
Comment: Isn't it amazing how John McCain changes his story, or is it just old age forgetfulness! from Milton by Daniel
Comment: As a tax payer I refuse to pay for the extra housing and cost needed. When active military are polled 52% want the BAN reinstated. The majority of our warriors should not be targeted by those who know nothing of their sacrifice during a time of intense warfare. from Pcola by Chris
Comment: I think any US citizend who wants to wear a uniform and defend the country they call home should be able to. This should be regardless of who they share their life and their home with. In 2010, people should not be forced to be someone others want them to be. Serving in the military is voluntary capable citizens should not be left on the sidelines if serving is what thwy would choose to do with their life. from Pensacola by Megan
Comment: In the first place, they are not gay, they are homosexual! I am occasionally gay, but have never been homosexual. Use the proper word and see if it's as cute as the term "gay." As to the comments about "come on, it's 2010!" What does that have to do with anything. If you live a lifestyle that's different than mainstream American, keep it to yourself! It's time to quit bowing to minorities in these United States of America. Yes, I am a veteran. from Mobile, AL by Gene
Comment: My husband and I both served in the Navy, I was in the WAVES, there was no 'don't ask, don't tell' policy back then and the regular and gays got along just fine. They didn't bother us and we didn't bother them. from pensacola by georgia
Comment: Sexual deviants are overt & brazen enough without giving them a get out of jail free card. They need to remember they are the minority among civilized peoples or they all start yapping like Rosie O'Donnell the dyke.Does anyone really want this?
