| 40.54% | Yes | |
| 59.45% | No |
Comment: Isnt it ironic the turd burglars who spear headed this project didnt and dont give a damn to let the citzens vote on this. Thye have a just line my pockets quick (Civic Joke Center) and ignore the citizens who live here. Screw the city and screw the county as the county will be asked down the road to bail the turd burglars mess up again..raise taxes to fund,..we are already there. Send me the petition...I'll sign it with my feet. from Pensacola by Flower
Comment: The Maritime park is a big plus for Pensacola and the surrounding area. I have enjoyed living in Pensacola for 5 years. The people signing the petition to block the park are just negative people. from Pensacola by Ev
Comment: We voted. It passed. Start looking to the future not the past from Pensacola,Fl by Bob
Comment: I think that in these economic times, fighting two wars, and facing a pandemic virus, who cares if the Maritime Park is a go or a NO? I will say that this was settled three years ago by a vote. Protesters need to get over it. from Pensacola, Florida by Cherry
Comment: why do these folks constantly want to block progress? aren't these the very same folks who have not lifted a finger to attract more businesses? what is their hidden agenda to hinder progress? is it because some of the money is not "lining" their pockets? and people wonder why this area is so backwards and behind the times... from p'cola fl by h
Comment: We already voted on this and voted yes let that be that and enjoy it. from pensacola,fl by lynn
Comment: There have been no significant changes in the funding. It just seems as if some developers will do anything to deny the public the use of its property. One good thing may come of this, however. This petition process may well be changed or even eliminated because of the abuse of the system we are seeing now. from Pensacola by Earl
Comment: THERES NOTHING BUT CROOKS RUNNING DOWNTOWN. YOU CANT AFFORD TO PUT UP CHRISTMAS LIGHTS BUT THEY SUPPORT NEWYEARS AND OTHER FESTIVALS DOWN THERE. GET A NEW CITY COUNCEL... WE NEED TO START OVER. from PENSACOLA by DANNY
Comment: Donovan is known as the "NO" man. He is always against anything that the rest of the community is for. It's a shame that he can disrupt this long planned project. from Pensacola, FL by Hattie
Comment: They need to forget about the whole deal. There is several ball parks up north going broke and they have deals with major league teams.why build something that will not make it in the long run.Get the port working and producing jobs and then see what should be there. from pace by Robert
Comment: The Maritime Park is a boondogle foisted on city residents. A referendum vote should be sought to reverse this horrible financial fraud. The Park was touted on the premise of "all things to all peple", but the location and size will prohibit that fulfillment. If Pensacola did not or can not pay for re-location of the sewage treatment plant, why can they pay for this. The real losers long-term will be the nations taxpayers after strom damage !! from Milton, Fl by Gene
Comment: I don't live in the city, but I think it is ridiculous that the park is halfway finished by now. It appears to me that the people who live in the immediate area, because they are relatively low income, are seen to be fit to live near a sewage plant, but make sure you don't have a nice park, etc in their neighborhood. Why doesn't the "ruling class" downtown get a life and let the city join the middle ages, at least. I know it is too much to ask for them to join the 21st century. from Pensacola, FL by Wanda
Comment: we dont have the money.....borrow over 40 million for a park?.......LOL.......whew!.....funny from pensacaola florida by barry
Comment: If they build it, it will be a flop. People quit going to Pensacola when the City ruined Palafox Steet's parking. Use to have a curb straight down Palafox St. They tore it up and made little slots for people to park in. With parking already bad, they went insane by screwing up Palafox parking and made it worse. Let the Homeless go back there. Leave them alone. They have had enought problems. from Pensacola by Ann
Comment: It seems to me that Marty Donovan and others do not want Pensacola to move forward at all. He and Charlie Faircloth want to block any progressive idea. Thank God for people like Quint Studer and Mike Wiggins who see possitive potential growth for Pensacola. We need more vocal people like Studer and Wiggins. from Pensacola,FL by Tricia
Comment: We approved the park 3 years ago and there is nothing to show for it. This is whats wrong with our town. A handful of people allways stop everything before it can begin. Our town could be so much more, if the projects were completed? What happened to majority rules??? Doug from pensacola, fl by douglas
Comment: The park could be a great thing for Pensacola. it could host a number of outside event, like NCAA baseball , High School, concerts and much more that could bring money in to our town. it this old farts that make the young folks move out of pensacola what is wronge with a home for our team. its time we biuld this thing. from Pensacola by Paul
Comment: It would be a nice place. But to put in where it is at is a dumb idea. Has been from the start. What happens when the first Hurricane comes in and the water levels everything that is there.Should be moved inland more. They should just make a nice park and nothing else. Couple of bathrooms and grass and trees. from Baker/Florida by Bill
Comment: The park has been an item that has been forcasted to bring money to Pensacola. I don't think that this park will produce the money for a county that do not have jobs to support the park. from Pensacola FL by Ken
Comment: No Idon't support Marty Donovan's latest effort to cost the city taxpayers even more money than the 8 million already added. I do have a proposal I think would top them all. Sell the property to The Creek Indian Tribe and let them develope it and it wouldn't cost taxpayers anything yet it would be developed first class, with potential for income to the city. Lou from pensacola fl by lucius
Comment: It is a big waste of money that could and should be used for more needy things. from pensacola fl by margaret
Comment: This and other senseless delays in building the park provide an excellent argument to vote FOR the new charter. from Pensacola, FL by Charles
Comment: Pensacola & Escambia county are one of the poorest communities in the country. Why not develop our waterfront...This will attract potential industries & families looking to relocate. Just look around at the potential Pensacola has. Why do the politicains and redtape work to stiffle & hinder and new development & progress that this community so desperately needs. Let's work together to improve our community! Let's get this thing started, why has it taken sooo long. This was approved in 2006 !!! from Pensacola,Fl by John
Comment: All these delates have already cost $18,000 when it was started talked they were saying it would cost $30,000,000. Thing like this is why Pensacola can't get a head. from Pensacola,Fl by Walter
Comment: even though I don't live in Pensacola - it seems a BIG waste of money to do this project in these times of limited income for the majority of people. The money to build this extravagant project can be better used on many other necessary projects. from Milton, FL by Carol
Comment: this is in the health care bill that the senate will be voting on. you can find it on page 141 of the bill. ABORTIONS FOR WHICH PUBLIC 5 FUNDING IS ALLOWED.—The services described 6 in this subparagraph are abortions for which 7 the expenditure of Federal funds appropriated 8 for the Department of Health and Human 9 Services is permitted, based on the law as in ef10 fect as of the date that is 6 months before the 11 beginning of the plan year involved. 12 ‘‘( from Jay by David { please read}
Comment: Lets scrap the plans if there is any. Our present city and county government just can't get it together. from Pensacola Florida by Paul
