| 12.5% | Support | |
| 87.5% | Oppose |
Comment: I oppose trying to to quiet the noise level of the plane, as that is the sound of freedom and without it God only knows where we would be as a country since we were founded by God the creator of the world. I may not live there but i solute those who are fighting for our freedom and aour beliefs and our rights. from pace fl by jewel
Comment: The city of Valparaiso was built ONLY because the military came to the area. For them to deny the mission and safety of our troops is beyond treason. I personally think the Valparaiso City Council should not only be ridden out of town on a Rail, but Tarred & Feathered as well!! from Pensacola, FL by James
Comment: If we lose the F35 at Eglin Ex Mayor Arnold will probably be run out of town. Losing the aircraft will hurt all surrounding towns and counties. AIM HIGH AIR FORCE from FWB, FL by Jon
Comment: I strongly oppose this silly legal battle. In an age of high unemployment, the people behind the legal suit must be independently wealthy and could care less about the "common man's" ability to make a living. The noise, to me, is a small price to pay for security (both nationally and billfold). from Gulf Breeze, FL by Don
Comment: “Hundreds of millions of dollars in economic impact- and “thousands of jobs” how low of an I.Q. does the "not the citizens who are unemployed there" but the analizing view with white collor jerks there running that city have created holding people back--with the white collor jerks have a job...so it dont impact them...for now. The city is not meeting wqith the air force..its the dumb as a bag of hammers idiots running that city thats the problem. PATHETIC LEADERSHIP AND I AM GLAD I DONT LIVE THERE IN OZ! Man how stupid can humans get and in charge of running a city. But wait...who voted (or paid their way) in??? from Pensacola,FL by D
Comment: this area needs more jobs and more money coming in, the noise can't be much worse than it is now. from Crestview FL by Ron
Comment: The Air Force Base was there first, Val P grew up around it. The City Council represents an extrem minority point of view within the community. In the larger, great good view, the value the F-35's bring to the area FAR OUTWAY the inconvience of the few nay-sayers in Val P. from Milton by Jim
Comment: How Dare such an over-aged, small group of old "Foggies" which comprise this citie's counsel continue to threaten the opportunity that this city has with the F35's. I own a business and need this for future growth and survival...This noise that we already hear is THE SOUND OF FREEDOM!!!! These old, out-dated counsel members should be run out of the state of FL.!!! From what I have hear they are the most hated folks in NWF!!!!!WHY NOT HAVE THEM RELOCATE!!!!!!!! from FWB by John
Comment: Hey,if it wasn,t for eglin air force, valparaiso, will be a ghost town, its the air force, that keep the city running, not the people who live there,,,,, from pensacola,fl by jay
Comment: All I have to say is Let Freedom Ring. If not for the military things like this could never take place. from Mary Esther, FL by Alan
Comment: I believe the issue is with a small portion of the people in Valpariso. These handful of people should have known that they lived next to an Air Force Base. The problem is not with the F-35 it's with these people. My idea is if you don't like the sound the jets make MOVE. from Fort Walton Beach, FL by Russell
Comment: Eglin should end these issues by shutting down the back gate leading to valparaiso to show how much money in rent, housing, and other sales that they would loose out on. from navarre, fl by j
Comment: City leaders better be careful or the air force will say see ya !!! Jet noise the SOUND OF FREEDOM val p get over it.Or you will be a ghost town......... from Pensacola,Fl. by Andrew
Comment: As they say ' Sound of freedom'. That base was most likely there before you were, so, simple solution, don't like it? MOVE BACK TO CALIFORNIA!!! from Lillian, Al by Joe
Comment: i understand that these fighters are important for national defense but should it hinder a community economically? and for the the standard of living? there is always a compromise. for all those who keep saying "the sound of freedom" i think these folks are a bit insensitive to those that are affected...but then again, the mentality around here is "not in my backyard" and "as long as it does not affect me..." pretty sad state of affairs if you ask me... from p'cola fl by h
Comment: My 'printable' comments are: These morons and greedy SOB's just don't seem to remember that that sound they're moaning about is the sound that has given them the FREEDOM TO GET RICH,AND NOT WORRY ABOUT ANYONE COMING IN AND RUINING THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH CHOICE OF HOW TO MAKE A LIVING. If the noise bothers them so much, MOVE----LEAVE THE STATE! from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
Comment: It just make sense to have these aircraft here to train with the Army and other nations when they go to war. They have to work together and its a big help to not have problems with the other branchs of services and even other Countries, that are our Nato friends. I have heard that Japan wants to get the F-22 and Gates told them that it would be wise to go for the newer aircraft which is the F-35. from Fort Walton Beach, FL by Gerry
Comment: I love it, its home town security and money in the bank, Welcome aboard, we want you and need you . from Navarre by Bill
Comment: i think the people of Val-p need to impeach their Mayor and Commissioners and get them out of there! Sueing the Air Force is like "biting the hand that feeds you"... Jet noise equals "the Sound of Freedom"! from Niceville, FL by Vickie
Comment: In this economy we need to support the military no matter how much noise it may cause for us civilians whom they serve and protect. from fwb/fl by susan
Comment: Let them complain louder. We here at Pensacola would love those planes relocated to NAS Pensacola. They want another runway, there are plenty of them at Sherman Field. Stop wasting taxpayers time and money. We are in a recession, send those planes and thier pilots to us. Lots of money goes with them and thier families. from Pensacola, FL by Smiley
Comment: Valparaiso residents will probably say "what do Pensacola residents know, they don't have to deal with it but hey,it's the sound of freedom!! Let it go!! from Pensacola by Jeff
Comment: I grew up in Crestview, back in the 1950's Valparaiso was a little village with only a few houses and weekend cottages. Eglin was in the same location that it is now and the noise level was to be expected. The housing growth came about because people choose to purchase houses in the area. If the noise didn't bother them when they purchased why should they complain now. The base was there before them! from Pace by Rita
Comment: you refer to valp as a city. It is a hole in the wall. In all the years that I've lived here, I can count on one hand the times i've shopped in valp. I'm sorry, but I don't think that valp should get to call this. This project is to important to this area to allow a podunk little town stop this project. from niceville by johnnie
Comment: The noise has always been part of Eglin and it may be the last sound of freedom left in the USA. We need Eglin, we do not need Valparaiso. from Shalimar, Fl by Joe
Comment: They knew when they moved there that there would be noise from the planes. If they don't like then they can move. The Government should no permit building in fly zones. This problem is happening all over and should stop. from Milton, Fl by John
Comment: Are they nuts??? They have forgot who pays the bills there from Pensacola, Fl by David
Comment: Just how will the noise "cripple" their city? Without the contributions of the military and Eglin AFB, most of the surrounding towns wouldn't have an economy. Be careful Valparaiso, you don't want to bite the hand that feeds you! from Pensacola, FL by Christopher
Comment: I think it is a good thing, though homes effected should be upgraded with noise reduction windows, insulation or what is needed. Paid by the Air Force. This was done in Tacoma, WA. all were satisfied. I beleive it was done at Sea-Tac also, in Seattle. from Pensacola/Florida by Rob
Comment: The noise will not be any worse than the what they hear now.. Val-P has too much time on their hands and should put efforts towards helping the economy not hurting it!!! from Niceville FL. by Lois
Comment: I live in the Penscola Airport flyed path at times it can be very un nevring at times. So I know how they feel.Paul,Pensacola from pensacola fl by paul
