| 56.25% | Yes | |
| 43.75% | No |
Comment: No i donot agree with it at all. every president has keeped the restrictionson cuba. what will our so called president give up next? from PACE FL by LARRY
Comment: Yes, it is past time to lift or ease restrictions. Care must be taken though that we keep our intelligence up to date on an island only 90 miles away from our shores. from Gulf Breeze, FL by Don
Comment: If our leaders had used common sense years ago, they would never have been an embargo against Cuba. I was stationed in GTMO for four years in the 60's and had some fine Cuban Citizans working for me. When Castro took over we should have recognized him as the leader of Cuba, and established relations with his government. from pensacola fl by jim
Comment: No. I do not agree that restictions should be relaxed between the U.S. and Cuba. Cuba is still a Communist country and we do not need Communists coming into the U.S. on a regular basis. Additionally, they are not equipped for an influx of tourists. Obama needs to concentrate on taking care of the United States and not other countries. from Pensacola, FL by Mary Ann
Comment: Absolutely! It's about time! We have trade relations with Communist China and Vietnam so, why not? I look forward to being able to cruise my sailboat there. from Pensacola by John
Comment: I believe it is time to cultivate economic relations with Cuba. As a child of the Cold War, I remember the fear of a Communist regime so close to us, but the world is far different today and we can't afford to isolate this island and miss out on economic opportunities in our future from Pensacola / FL by Hank
Comment: Generally, I'm not in favor of funds being sent to Cuba, as it may prolong the existing rule of Castro's government. However, I acknowledge that during the next 5-10 years the opportunity for Cuba to alter its government will occur. These changes should put the U.S. in a more favorable light to the general Cuban population. Eventually, normal relations will be restored. from Pensacola / Florida by Rick
Comment: No, I do not agree with the President's decision to relax restrictions on Cuba. The Vietnamese and Mexicans, send American dollars to their home countries, and now Cubans are allowed to do the same. No wonder our economy is in the shape it is in. Keep American money in America. Shame on you Obama. from Pensacola by Punkin
Comment: These restrictions haven't stopped anything for 50 years. I know people who wanted to go to Cuba. They just spent more money and went there in a roundabout way. The restrictions have NOT corrected anything. It's useless. Get rid of it. from Pensacola, Fl. by J.
Comment: I agree with President Obama's new rules but think that may of the other limitations on trade with Cuba should be relaxed as well. from Fort Walton Beach, FL by James
Comment: Yet another example of why you don't put someone w/ no experience in the most powerful office in the world, bad judgement but hey, that's the theme of this presidency, right? from Pensacola, FL by Stephanie
Comment: I think it is a good idea to let them see what they are missing. from Pensacola/ FL by Donald
Comment: Many may disagree but what century would one promote this as Obama has.Since the 50s you have seen no change in many things in Cuba. You have to stimulate change- it dont happen by magic and crossing your fingers. We do business with Russia,China,Korea etc...and we know waht human rights issues they have.Yet we trade with them.China concerns me with products that are sold knowingly faulty and promoting sickness in thier candy, sheetrock, medical drugs...etc. from Pensacola,FL by D
Comment: Obama is an idiot! from Fairhope, AL by Barbara
Comment: I don’t see anything wrong with changing the rules with Cuba. After all, Americans are pretty much free to travel to and from Saudi Arabia and conduct business with them, and they are one of if not the most oppressed nations on earth. from Century, FL. 32535 by JIm
Comment: I'd like to see the embargo dropped. Ut would mean hundreds of millions of dollars for our local economy. Before the embargo the Port of Pensacola was a major port in Cuban/American trade. from Navarre, FL by Morton
Comment: it about time! from p'cola fl by h
