Comment: Great Idea!! from Navarre by Edna

Comment: Lets put all the energy into creating new industrial jobs instead of "Gambling" We as a state have gambled way too much and look where we are at today.Raise taxes as yo were going to do anyway as bringing the gambling issue to light automatically puts one in a negative light as a law maker..hence you will decide what you already have...raise the taxes over and over again as history has shown to run a country and run it..but not into the ground as we have today. Its amazing waht kind of morals we try to snuff out when the going gets tough to make a buck. At least we have not jumped on the ban wagon with California and want to grow weed for $$$ tax. YET!Yet in despair people will vote yes in this economic "afraid of the dark" climate. from Pensacola,FL by D

Comment: Please look around and see how gambling hurt the individual people from cantonment by deborah

Comment: It's about time Florida started reaping the benefits that her citizens are bestowing on other states. Gambling is a choice. If you want to you can and if you don't you do not have to. But a lot of people use this as entertainment and right now Florida could sure use the dollars going into other state coffers. from PENSACOLA/FL by MARQUIETA

Comment: Gamblers will find a way to gamble so why not have our county/state gain some of the potential revenue. from Pensacola/FL by Joice

Comment: if the gambling is off-shore or on indian land...i do not mind and they should be taxed accordingly...but i do oppose it in the state of florida... from pcola fl by h

Comment: yes, i do think they should let gambling into our state..why let all those dollars filter into Biloxi and other states. another idea, would be to let a ship into our harbors for gambling...instead of building a casino, dock ships into various harbors...they are already equipped with the machines and poker tables...an dining facilities...make use of some of them. from pensacola by georgia

Comment: Yes, for heaven's sakes, it is - our has been in the past, a free country - where individuals make their life choices. One happens to be gambling. Currently, we have a possibility of a hotel resort with electronic bingo to be built on Perdido Key. This would be a boon to SW Escambia County. - Construction jobs would be created. - Permanent jobs would be created in the hospitality and gaming industries. - Visitors who prefer a hotel to a condominium setting for a vacation will visit the Key and SW Escambia. - Some of the new visitors will like the area, return and invest in a home or job. - Escambia County tax and sales revenues will increase. This is not a smoky den of inequity. It is a legitimate development that will benefit all of us indirectly and directly benefit those who choose to use the new facility. Let's stop legislating and prohibiting the behavior of others when it does not harm us or our community. from Pensacola / Florida by JR

Comment: We have the lottery, why not casinos from Navarre,Fl by Stephanie

Comment: i see nothing wrong with having more gambling in the state. from pensacola, florida by nancy

Comment: Gambling is just one facet of the lack of vision on the part of our representatives and many of our residents. Take a look at the progress in Biloxi, Destin, and Ft. Walton over the last few years. What has Pensacola brought to the table to increase tourism or industry other than the maritime park which has moved nowhere. from Pensacola, FL by Tom

Comment: The state has no business preventing adults from making their own decisions, as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. I have no interest in gambling, but if people are going to waste their money anyway, the tax revenue might as well stay local. from Pensacola by Lisa

Comment: I believe anything that will help our economy is fine with me from Milton F.L. by Crystal

Comment: Ultimately, gambling begets bigger and uglier criminal activity. Quite possibly if it were held within reason by reasonable people it would work out; but the problem is that it (gambling) is addictive and can ruin all you have worked for. We don't need to legalize it hear in Florida. from Mary Esther, FL. by Tom
