Abortion rules: Do you support a bill that would require ultrasounds for women seeking an abortion during the first trimester of a pregnancy?

60.37% Yes
39.62% No

Comment: Most definately yes!!! Too many women have no clue that even at that little, the baby is alive and is growing. I think it would make people stop and think before having an abortion. If a person does not want the baby, why put yourself in that situation!!! So many people would love to have children, but can't. Give the baby up for adoption, save their life! Your mom gave you life, why take a life from someone!! Stop being so selfish and think of the dear baby that you can give life. from Pensacola by Jennifer

Comment: What's wrong with informed choice? Liberals are all for transparency--except when it comes to abortion. And why shouldn't rape victims get an ultrasound? Just because their humanity was denied by a rapist, that's no reason to turn around and deny a baby his or her humanity. All the bill mandates is an ultrasound--it doesn't interfere with the feminazis' "sacred right" to an abortion. from Pensacola, FL by Faith

Comment: Yes, the mothers need to see what there about to kill. Hopefully they'll change there mind from Navarre by Brian

Comment: With the way the econemy is, do the tax payers need to belly up the cost for this procedure. if republicans want to ban abortion please do it the proper way and not use tax payers money to make it more difficult. we can all see this for what it is. from Navarre by T.

Comment: The state needs to stay out of the personal business of women. This is a personal decison and not any of the states concern. In fact in light of the budget cuts and such the legislature needs to stop wasting taxpayer dollars worrying about someones personal life and focus on real state related business such as finding money for schools. from Navarre, FL by Tom

Comment: ....and who is going to pay for this? the people who stand out to protest? the people with those disgusting signs? those nuts cases? from p'cola fl by h

Comment: Requiring a further medical procedure on this is a violation of a woman's right to choose and of her right to privacy in medical issues. Keep your laws off women's bodies. from Pensacola, FL by Elizabeth

Comment: If a woman wants an abortion, complicating the situation will only cause problems. When abortions were illegal women would use clothes hangers to abort themselves. Is this what we want to revert back to just so we can say that we are making it more difficult for women? Although I do not support abortion, I do not think if a woman wants to abort, she will be kept from it. from jay, fl by barry

Comment: I think that this a disgusting display of the government getting too involved in a person's basic right to personal choice. I think abortion is wrong, but I'm entitled to my opinion and I don't force it on other people. I am not God and therefore DO NOT judge people's choices. Who am I to tell a teenage girl, a victim of rape or incest, or someone with a health problem that they should be forced to view their unwanted child and cause them MORE emotional hell??? That is beyond cruel!! We don't know what goes through those women's minds and hearts when they make that decision, so therefore we have NO RIGHT to force them or guilt them into making a decision that is ultimately wrong for them. To even suggest that we should is digusting and sinful. Shame on the people who even suggested this idea!! from Pensacola, FL by Monica

Comment: some weamon look at abortion as away of birth control. and not a life. or as human waste. if they are made to look at it as a life mabe they'll look into other forms of birth control or give the baby up for adoption. there are all ways people looking for a baby to have as their own. from pesacola fl by lisa

Comment: Forcing women to have ultrasounds in the first trimester to "give them more information about the fetus" is assuming that women are idiots who don't understand what a fetus is and it's just another way to attempt to undermine their decision. from Pensacola/Florida by Brooke

Comment: More information for the woman considering abortion about her child is an important tool in her decision making process. If required, provisions must be made to cover the cost of the ultrasound for those who need assistance. from Pace,FL by Mark

Comment: it would create more mental anguish for the mother. it is already a tough decision to live with without adding a visual to it. abortions are legal and a personal choice. from pensacola by melissa

Comment: The Government needs to stay OUT OF IT from Milton, Florida by TJ

Comment: Yes I think they should have to face the child they are wanting to murder! from Pensacola, FL by Heidi
