AIG Bonuses: Do you think executives at A.I.G should be forced to return their bonuses?
| 76.19% | Yes | |
| 23.8% | No |
Comment: I think they should have to give them back because if the company was in the condition to continually need "bail out" payments from the Government they should not have been giving it back to the employees. The employees that are no longer employed and under the contract in question should especially give theirs back and stopped from receiving anything further. All bonuses should be stopped to AIG employees (executives) until the Government is paid back for every cent that was "borrowed". from Ft Walton Beach FL by Mildred
Comment: I think that the greedy pigs should be bound and placed in the town square where all the tax payers could whip them like in the days of old. It is so outrageous that am completely outraged! from Valparaiso, FL by Donna
Comment: Since thy had a bail out already using our tax money they should be ashamed to even think of a bonus. My pet peeves are bonuses and expense accts!!!!! from Ft. Walton Fl by Carol
Comment: ABSOLUTELY. Yes, make all AIG return ALL FUNDS. I have never believed in any of these bailouts. This is stupidly rewarding Bad Management, Thievery, Fraud, Conversions, and shaming and scamming in general. Every US Citizen should join a Class Action against them and others for the thievery because these administrators absolutely knew what they were doing. No Excuses. Let them fail: Reverse the 1990 Graham-Leech-Biley Act that repealed the Glass-Steagle Act of 1930, which was a huge roadblock to this type of shamming. And finally, break up the Mega Mergers of recent years: This alone probably has a lot to do with Newspapers going under and closing their doors, which I for one do not like to see happening. from Pensacola, Florida by Robert
Comment: why should our tax money be given to people that are already living way above regular tax payers income? from Elberta,al by na
Comment: Did anybody bother to look up the meaning of bonus? i was under the impression that was compensation for a job well done, or for earning a good profit for the employer, not for cheating the public. Get REal! from pensacola fl by sharon
Comment: YES, a big yes. How do people feel that are losing their homes and people that have or losing their jobs. Is it fair to the people of the USA to loss everything and money be given to people that can not keep their business going, because they have to live so high on the hog. Let them be looking for a place to live and feed their family on nothing. It is a very sad world that right, now. Were is the back bone of our gov. Give the money to the tax payers and let us put it back into our business to keep jobs. from Milton, Fl by Joyce
Comment: A bonus is for a job well done and a company doing a good job. This is greed and nothing more. A company without scrupples and people without morals. from Gulf Breeze/FL.
Comment: I DO feel they should give back the money..it was not to be used for their benefit! This to me is criminal and if they do not return the money, they should be held accountable as anyone else who steals.....THE PUNISHMENT SHOULD BE PRISON!!! from Pace by Carol
Comment: Yes. Choosing ones' way in life should NOT be predicated upon how rich he or she will get. Even the definition of the word "bonus" leads you to believe that it is giving for a "special or distinctive action". The way the term bonus is used with AIG leads one to believe that a bonus is a way of life. What about the rest of us that do not work on Wall Street or in "big finance" - don't we deserve bonuses for what we do with our chosen paths in life? from Mary Esther, Fl. by Tom
