Evolution: Do you believe in Darwin's theory of evolution?

38.09% Yes
59.52% No

Comment: I think we need to study the Bible more. That is where the truth lies. from shalimar fl by susy

Comment: I believe in natural evolution. i.e. In the last 50 years, the tundras of alaska have evolved from grassy to shrubby due to warming climate changes. But I do not believe men are from monkeys. from Pensacola by DeAndra

Comment: I was raised in the Catholic School system in which a was taught you can believe both in Darwin and in the Bible. I believe that at some point in evolution we developed a soul. The scientific evidence in favor of evolution is overwhelming. from pensacola by sonya

Comment: If we were descended from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? from Pensacola, FL by Waneta

Comment: It is an unproven theory that wastes time and energy. There is much that is lacking in the theory; there is evidence against it. from Pensacola, Florida by DeWitt

Comment: evolution is false and creation is true. from cantonment/fl by bonnie

Comment: Evolution is the biggest lie since "God is dead." The drive to exclude any mention of evidence that disproves the theory simply demonstrates that the only hope evolutionists have of indoctrinating the public is to ensure that their view is the only one presented. There is no undisputed proof that evolution happened in the past, and no process in science to explain how evolution could happen today. from Daphne, AL by Lester

Comment: Are you kidding? Does this even have to be asked in the 21st Century. People who insist upon taking the literal word of a book of dubious provenance, which the Bible is, frighten me. from Navarre FL by Mary

Comment: God is a matter of belief. Darwin is a matter of fact. from Pensacola by NeaL

Comment: Darwin says, and I quote, "We are beginning to see that the awesome wonder of the evolution from amoeba to man - for it is without a doubt an awesome wonder - was not the result of a mighty word from a creator, but of a combination of small, apparently insignificant processes." I do not see how anyone can look at the differences in all of the people on earth, the different types of animals as well as our majestic heavens and earth and believe that one amoeba divided and made it all. If one believes such as this, did they ever stop and wonder why we don't see any half people half fish or half monkey half people. In all the years of my life, I have never seen anything still evolving. I believe we never will because God created it all in 6 days as He said. from Pensacola by Marie

Comment: without belief in God as creator people have no hope. perhaps that's why life is not valued and morals are low. the fear(knowledge) of God is the beginning of wisdom. from pensacola, fl by linda

Comment: It is shocking that this question even deserves asking! The theory of evolution is as proven as the theory of gravity. It is sad that only a third world country like Turkey is the only country below us in accepting this sound scientific fact. There are literally millions of data (fossils) that prove that we indeed have evolved, and continue to do so. from pace, fl by robert

Comment: I can believe in that sooner than I can believe in a God! Evolution is observable. from Pensacola by Robert

Comment: Folks need to get back to the bible to get their answers. Man was created in the image of God. from Pensacola, FL by Rose

Comment: Darwin's theory of evolution is unfounded. The fossil record fails to show evidence of gradual evolution. Darwin's legacy is deadly. He believed in "natural selection." He believed that the fittest should survive and overcome the weakest. I believe Darwin also influenced bioethics in eliminating undesirables so there would be a superior race. I liken Darwin to Hitler, who also believed in natural selection. Hitler held the opinion the Jews were inferior and needed to be exterminated. I believe evolution is a "fairy tale." Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this subject. from Pensacola, FL by Cynthia

Comment: Darwins theory, is just that, "a theory" its unproven. yet its taught in schools as if it was a proven fact. from crestview, fl 32536 by lori

Comment: The question is poorly constructed because "believe" is a religious term connoting a faith in a concept that is unwavering. Asking it in this is sure to result in a "no" from many people who consider themselves religious. I don't "believe" in evolution, but I do accept it as a scientific theory that has been tested and is generally accepted. It isn't without its problems (such as gaps in the fossil record) but that, in and of itself, does not disprove the theory as a whole. BTW, this isn't an "either/or" proposition. Why do people think EITHER evolution is true OR God created in 7 days. Why couldn't God create evolution, which then becomes the way God works in the world to bring about change? I don't see a conflict. from Gulf Breeze FL by June

Comment: it is the most logical answer to the question how we got here...i cannot believe that some magical, omnipotent being decided to create us from dirt and obey his/her "commands" or we will burn in hell...do people actually believe in all that rubbish? still believing in some stories made up by some stone age...sages? from p'cola fl by h

Comment: It is ridiculous to dismiss scientific evidence. from Navarre Beach/FL by Don

Comment: Darwin's theory is so flawed it's laughable. More biblical history has been proven to be correct than has secular history. If man descended from monkeys then, why do we still have monkeys. I'll readily admit, some men behave worse than monkeys from Crestview, Fl. by D. R.

Comment: It is impossiple for man to have evolved as a result of random chances or change mutations; his body and mind are so highly complex, they had to be created. The highest achievement possible to man is to know God through Christ. from Pensacola by Ralph

Comment: No, a theory is not a proved scientific law. It is a primis that is 200 years old but has not progress to a scientific law. Cal Sagan called it a FACT, but does not make it true either. from Pensacola, Florida by Bob
