Comment: If property taxes are cut, there will have to be increases elsewhere.Instead they should should curb expenses such as eliminating"double dipping"practices.I've never understood why someone is allowed to retire from a job and collect a big pension, then be rehired to do the same job. from Ft Walton Bch,Fl by Jim
Comment: Our taxes are too high for what our property is valued at. We need a big reduction. Take the schools out of our property taxes. from Navarre. Fl. by C J
Comment: We as a people have to face the fact that we need to cut jobs in our County offices. By so doing this and lowering taxes the American Family will be able to survive from Pensacola, FL by Jim
Comment: I think we need as many property tax cuts as possible. from Pensacola, Fl by Donna
Comment: IT WOULD BE NICE, BUT IT APPEARS THAT THEY CUT THE TAX ONLY TO INCREASE FEES (I.E. SCHOOL TAX, FIRE TAX, ETC.) IT HAPPENED LAST TIME AND MY TOTAL SAVINGS WAS A 35 DOLLAR SAVINGS PER YEAR. WOW!!! from MILTON, FL by ARTHUR
Comment: Abslutely not. You have to have tax money to run government, education is being cut by lack of money and we run the risk of not getting stimulus money because Crist has cut the budget for education too much already, he is running education into the ground. from Pace,Fl by Jane
Comment: No from Pace, FL by Al
Comment: we all need jobs and make money so we will have a place to stay and have a roof over our heads have clothes to wear and food to eat. Need to stop all of the cuts that are going on and is happning right now. No one should cut back on jobs and school and everything eles also. from fort walton beach, florida, by Kevin
Comment: We need to get rid of the save our homes cap which has created unequal burdens on equal valued homes. Also, every living unit should have to pay some minimum tax before the homestead exemption is applied. This allows for redevelopment of derelict properties and would benefit Escambia County's appearance and growth. from Pensacola, FL by Susan
Comment: sounds like a pretty good plan(s) to me! i would vote yes to all four tax proposals... from p'cola fl by h
Comment: My husband and I have been trying to figure out how we 're to retire and pay taxes and outrageous insurance costs for once in a blue moon hurricanes. I feel sorry for those who've already retired and are now finding it hard to make ends meet with these things and the ever increasing costs of living. from Cantonment, FL by Marisa
Comment: yes the tax is too high. etc from pensacola/fl by lee
Comment: YES!!!! from Pensacola by John
Comment: The city and county just can't afford the decrease in funding they would lose with a cut. Not that I couldn't use it, but some common sense is needed here. from pensacola by raymond
Comment: The last property cut was negligible when assessing it on an individual basis. This additional proposal appears to be just jumping on the bandwagon of federal initiatives with a policy that won't revive our deteriorating economy. from PENSACOLA FL by CARRIE
Comment: I did not support the last property tax cuts and I do not support this round of property tax cuts. It does not make sense to cut property taxes when your laying off people who work for the state, local governments and the school districts. Like it or not, it takes money to run a government. If you cut property taxes you'll have to make up that revenue somehow or lay off more people. I think we're starting a bad deflationary cycle that must stop. from Pensacola by Edward
Comment: We are reeling from cuts in government spending as it is. If we expect services, they need to be paid for somehow. Education in this state is in dire straits due to the lack of funding. from pensacola, fl by tisa
