| 75.43% | Yes | |
| 24.56% | No |
Comment: Rep. Samson has been able to hold 2 public jobs at the same time one time too many! from Fort Walton Beach by Millie
Comment: I have known Ray for many years and he is a good, honest man. He will do whatever is the best for his constituents and community; he has served us well in Talahassee and can serve well for our college as well. from Niceville,FL by Susy
Comment: Speaker Sansom has always presented and acted as an outstanding supportor of the community. He has always put them first and has never thought twice about it. Ray Sansom and Dr. Bob Richburg have served this community well and always thought of us first. This is no more than an attack from the other side of the isle. from Fort Walton Beach/FL by Michael
Comment: What has Ray ever done that has not benefited him or his friends the most. ie Odoms Curve on old Hwy 98. Where is his FWB office located now? from Ft. Walton by Ken
Comment: FIRE HIM . do hot let him just walk away from CENTURY,FL by THOMAS
Comment: A part time job that pays $110,000 per year after he delivered $25,000,000 in tax dollars just doesn't pass the sniff test. from Milton by Jim
Comment: More good ole boy feathering his nest! from Milton, FL by George
Comment: It's people like this who give politicians a bad name. He should step down. Just goes to show what greed does. from Pensacola, FL by Karen
Comment: This guy is as greedy as it gets. He does not have the best interest of Florida in his heart or mind, all he sees is what is in it for him. He needs to go, quit voting for these greedy people!! from Pensacola, Florida by James
Comment: Talk about a big time "double dipper" - Ray Sansom takes the cake . . . and the chocolate fudge ice cream. While the rest of us are having to cut back on the meat and vegatables. from Mary Esther/FL by Susie
Comment: I was a state law enforcement officer for 30 years and the never would allow dual state employment due to conflict of office. from FL by Ray
Comment: As a former employee of NWFCC and a current state employee, this is a slap in the face to all those that work hard for the small salaries and no COLA's. from Baker, FL by Mark
Comment: To much greed can cause huge problems. He needs to decide which is important. If he doesn't want to step down then he certainly isn't listening to his county. If he wants to give the 110 thousand to a good cause which are to many to name, then maybe he might be honest, but come on. The $$ is to good to pass up. Sorry he neds to resign. from Ft. Walton Bch, FL by D
Comment: If he hadn't delivered the 25 mil, he wouldn't have been offered the job. These people have no scruples and see nothing wrong. Time to hit the bricks Ray. You're as crooked as they come and the OW president is just as guilty of impropriety. from Ft. Walton Beach, FL by Scott
Comment: It is a shame that our NWF representatives that have become Presidents of the legislature have been power corrupted. W. D. Childers is in prison now. Bo Johnson from Santa Rosa County has served his time for bribery and now we have Ray Sansom with a job at NWF State College being paid $110k for part time work as repayment for getting the college $25 million last year. It is definately a conflict of interest and he needs to be repremanded and step down. It is a shame to NWF to have these crooks representing us. from Shalimar by M
Comment: looks like a conflict of interest here,it does not look good. from pensacola,fl by glen
Comment: He is OK as Speaker, but he should cut ties with the "good ol' boy" administration at NWFSC. This is the college that let its president "retire" and then "unretire" at twice the salary. He needs to get away from this corruption. from Niceville, FL by Bill
Comment: He should not have to step down as Speaker of the House, however, he must resign from the college job. To hold both jobs is a conflict of interest! He used poor judgment taking the college position. I am a Republican but wrong has no party. from Mary Esther, Fl by Arnold
Comment: Why isn't this a surprise... I am ashamed that this man can remain in office!! from Palm Beach, FL by cathie
Comment: I think he should step down OR stop the work for the college. I do not think him being speaker is an issue if he quits the other job. He should not be doing both. from Crestview by Callie
Comment: Absolutely Not! He should not step down. He response is right on - not to play partisan politics. from Niceville by Nancy
Comment: Yes, of course he should! from Pensacola by K
Comment: I think the best interest of NW Florida is served by keeping Rep. Sansom in the legislature. As a teacher in the great state of Florida I constantly hear about the deep cuts that will be necessary next year just to keep the doors open. If the position with the college is only part time perhaps Rep. Sansom would consider donating his time. from Fort Walton by P
Comment: Mr.Samson should keep both of his jobs as long as he give 65% to charity for his combined jobs or 85% of the college job or he should give up one of his jobs. I will take one as i have no job due to the resession. from Maryesther/Fl. by Jason
Comment: Ray Sansom is a hero in education. My 2 grandaughters were 2 of the first in dual enrollment for high school and college with a scholarship to gain their degrees. Ray was on that board that made all that possible. It has helped so many families and young people. He is a fair and honest person. I worked with him in a different position in Okaloosa County when he was commissioner. He should never step down unless he so choses to do so. He is elected!!!!!!!!!! from Milton, Fl by Lucille
Comment: I'm sick of politicians (even from my party) doing things to line their pockets. from milton/fl. by Raymon
Comment: Yes he should step down. He defenitely acquired this job because of his involvement with the money that was approved for the college. It is quiet inapproiate to take a job at the college. from Navarre, Fl. by C J
Comment: Definitely a conflict of interests. from Shalimar, FL by Roger
Comment: People are playing dirty politics asking Ray to step down. He is honest and hard working. He will do just fine from Niceville, FL by William
Comment: Not from the Speaker job, but he should drop the NWF State College job!
Comment: What is it with these Republicans? Have they not heard of ethics? from Pensacola/FL by Howard
Comment: Mr. Sanson shouldn't step down. This is another example of Dr. Richburg doing something the public doesn't want. He is the one that is responsible and he should know better. from Destin FL by Harry
Comment: With all of the cuts in the education budget, why is the college paying $110,000 for a part time job? If money is that plentiful, why not reduce the tuition? I would like for the state do an audit of the school's budget to see what else they are doing with our money. The president of the college should be held accountable. from Pensacola, Florida by John
