Comment: Should always be one man-one woman. from Pensacola, Fl by Tony
Comment: Gay and Lesbian couples should not be allowed to adopt children. This would be teaching children that this lifestyle is appropriate and acceptable. It is not. There is no question this is not a natural lifestyle. How can a lesbian or gay couple procreate after their own kind. They cannot. We should not pollute the minds of these children at this stage of their life when they are so easily influenced. by Max
Comment: I OPPOSE THE LAW. WHY IS IT OKAY FOR GAY AND LESBIANS TO BE FOSTER PARENTS BUT NOT TO LEGALLY ADOPT IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA? IT IS HEARTBREAKING FOR THE STATE TO KEEP THESE CHILDREN IN FOSTERCARE THAN TO ALLOW THEM TO BE ADOPTED BY A LOVING GAY OR LESBIAN COUPLE. from PENSACOLA,FL by ANGELA
Comment: With all the children out there needing homes, it is a shame to deny them families. If you have ever seen a gay couple with their children, you would oppose the ban as well. Grow up people. They are less likely to be molesters than natural parents. Look up the stats. from Pensacola by Patricia
Comment: There are so many unwanted children in the world, if someone is financially willing and able to take on the responsibility of children, and to love them unconditionally, let them be adopted.. from Pensacola, Fl. by Terry
Comment: No gay or lesbian should be allowed to adopt any child. They do not need to be raised in that environment. from Pensacola, FL by Marilyn
Comment: I agree with the ban and find it odd these men were allowed to foster care for children. But it is not odd that they have picked boys. from Mobile, AL by S.
Comment: there should be No reason gay couples can't adopt. They have every right, as anyone does to have and hold and love a child. They are too many children longing for a family, especially during the holidays. from Navarre, Fl. by Holly
Comment: Children should have a mom and a dad, not a mom and mom or dad and dad. from Molino, FL
Comment: Why would anyone want to raise an innocent child in a demoralized situation. The only reason is to convert the child to that perverted life choice. from panama by James
Comment: The facts are there that prove a family consisting of a man and a woman is the most beneficial to a child not homosexual realationships. Plus the State of Fl has a law put in place by the representitives of the citizens that says we don't want it. It's not the job of another activist judge to legislate. by Jeremy
Comment: "No moral or scientific reason." They can be foster parents but not adoptive parents? Sounds kinda bassackerds to me!! from Milton, FL by Jennifer
Comment: I don't support homosexuals getting married and I sure don't beleive they should subject children to that kind of activity by adopting them...in fact I don't beleive they should be foster parents...WAKE UP PEOPLE... from Pensacola,Fl by Jim
Comment: What kind of message are we sending out to our children if we allow this to happen? Could it confuse a younger child as to what his own sexual preference is before he or she comes of age to know better. What guarantee do we have as a society of responible adult parents that the gay comunity will address this issue with their young adopted children? from milton,fl. by frederick
Comment: Dear WEAR TV; Who can say which home would be best for a child, where they would receive unconditional love, good morals and a stable home where they feel safe and secure? What I object to is that judges think they can legislate from the bench. Do they think they are better than the voters in Florida, that they can just change laws from the bench instead of upholding them? If any law needs to be changed the voters of Florida should all have a voice, and not be the decision of one person. from Navarre by Kathleen
Comment: Some of the best parents that I know are gay/lesbian. Being allowed to be foster parents but unable to adopt sounds like an oxy-moron to me. I am a gay man and have been with my partner for 20 years, longer than most marriages last. We raised 3 biological children and they are all successful well adjusted adults one of which has served two tours in Iraq. This is just another attempt of the hipocritical religious fanatics to try to keep us from living a normal happy life with families. The state of Florida would rather see children bounced around from place to place with heterosexuals (who made them to begin with) than to have a stable home with love. Gay people should have the same constitutional rights as everyone else. It is time to stop discrimination against gays/lesbians. There is no contradictory documentation to support banning Gay adoptions scientific or otherwise. from Pensacola, Fl by Bob
Comment: It comes down to this....What is best for the children. Would you adopt a child to a sraight couple who seem normal and have it together but really like most ALL so-called "normal" straight families, have some disfuction that is mostly overlooked due to the fact that they are "Straight", or worse yet, are abusive and unstable. Or would you adopt to the gay family who is stable, well adjusted, non abusive and just as loving, caring and able to provide a good home as any other person who tries hard enough. SO many people are affraid of gay people raising children yet we are not affraid to let abusive and neglectful people keep their children due to our foster care system being so overcrowded. Children are not being well cared for due to the fact that so many children are refused to gay people who could very well care for them. Are people affraid that those children might end up being gay themselves? America need to wake up and realize that gays are not going anywhere and that part of growing as a country is changing and if you don't change then you can't grow. Take the children into considerartion as you ask this question....Try polling our young (13-18 yr old) americans and ask them, "If you had the choice to be in the system or be raised by a gay couple, what would you want? How would it make you feel? Would you be ashamed or grateful?" Find out how young americans feel about gay couples and chances are you will find your answer within their words. I myself was raised by a gay parent and I have grown to be very open to the many lifestyles that surround me everyday. I am a straight woman married for 12 years now and have a family of my own. Who raises you does not define you. Ask gay people how many were raised in a "normal" straight home and I bet you will be suprised how many were. If we keep raising prejudice then we will continue to see prejudice so lets raise our children to know that we are ALL human and we all love, hurt, breath and bleed the same. from Cantonment by Lynn
Comment: Requirement 1) HETROSEXUAL .............. This seems like such a no-brainer. It's so sad what how morally jaded Americans have become. No matter how hard the gay and lesbian communities push their agendas, they will never succeed in making the unnatural into natural. from Pensacola by Todd
Comment: Our Laws were based on religious moral laws and the USA is trying to move away from the founding fathers wishes. from Molino by Richard
Comment: I oppose a ban on gay adoptions because so many children need parents, and it doesn't make any difference what someone's sexual orientation is. I am a gay father of three boys, and my partner and I have raised our three sons to be pillars of our community. I'm not sure what we did wrong, because they all turned out straight. Guess being raised by gay dads, was a good influence. from Milton, FL by Phillip
Comment: Having so many children in the foster care system, you would imagine giving them a loving home would be top priority. So many gay and lesbians would give anything to be able to adopt and raise a child. from Milton,Fl by Tasha
Comment: I OPPOSE IT A FAMILY IS A FAMILY.THERES SO MANY KIDS NEEDING PEOPLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEM AND LOVE THEM. IT SHOULDN'T BE BASED ON IF YOUR GAY OR NOT. from NAVARRE by APRIL
Comment: Gods law forbids, and apoints those who do these things to hell, unless they repent and God forgives them. Beside it is amoral, and disgusting. from Milton, Fl by Edmon
Comment: People are still people regardless of their sexual preference. Gay or Lesbian couples are no different from regular couples, in fact, some are more supportive than any regular couple that I have ever seen. Im not gay and still support the decision of adoption or marriage. from Pensacola, FL by Gerald
Comment: I think it's a tragedy that unsuspecting Children are adopted into a same sex home and later being subject to the same life style. from Pensacola, Fl. by Carol
Comment: These children need loving homes. Living in foster care can cause depression I'm sure. Children just need to be loved, cared for and protected. from Milton/FL by A
