Comment: jobs jobs jobs we need jobs from pensacola, fla by roland
Comment: it will be a good deal from pensacpla by mike
Comment: Not only would it create more jobs, but keep gambling money in the county, and people WILL go where ever to gamble, such as Biloxi or Atmore. from pensacola,fl. by shirley
Comment: I think gambling should be allowed state wide. Why send all of our money to Mississippi. from Pace, FL by Tom
Comment: absolutely! The revenues to escambia county would be fantastic. The jobs it would create would be really good paying job's that people here need so desparately. The people that gamble already, could pump money into our state, instead of supporting our nieghboring states and the people that do not gamble will not be forced to do so anyway! The track has not been a problem in over 60 years and has employed thousands over that time period. Please don't make it a problem now! This would be one of the smartest moves the county commission has ever made. The people of escambia County are tired of heading the list as one of the poorest counties in Fl. from gulf breeze,fl by mary
Comment: like, the dog track is not gambling, and you can bet on the horses, there.we have the lottery.so gambling is gambling is gambling from pensacola,fl by glen
Comment: doesn't Pensacola still have high standards, poker tables will be just another foot in the door for full blown casino's. we don't need low class jobs here from pensacola by jim
Comment: Yes, I feel it would be of benefit to the area, particularly in attracting tourism to the Perdido Key area. Many of the local restaurants and pubs already have Texas Hold-em games. The excuses we hear from many people are just that,an excuse. The Dog Track has been here for over 60 years without any problems. from Pensacola,Fl by Bill
Comment: DEAL EM from PENSACOLA by MIKE
Comment: Keep jobs in Pensacola from Pensacola, fl by Kari
Comment: would rather drive to pensacola than drive all the way to biloxi from elberta, alabama by kathryn
Comment: If the PGT doesn't get poker tables, there's a good chance the track will close. Bring on the poker!! from Pensacola, FL
Comment: Why are we one of the last counties to get them? What is the hold up? from Pensacola, FL by Charles
Comment: i already travel to biloxi to play poker so it would be a great advantage to the county for tax dollars and local entertainment from pensacola fl by timothy
Comment: Poker is pari-mutuel wagering, players betting amongst each other. Poker is already played all over Escambia county. The county will be a direct beneficiary of the taxes paid by the track too. I guess we could just keep sending our residents and tourists who want to play poker to Washington County, Fl and Mississippi and Atmore, Alabama though. Shouldn't we support an established local business that has been here since 1946? from Pensacola / FL by Daniel
Comment: If poker if not approved, the dog track will close and we will have more job loses from Pensacola/Fl by Steve
Comment: me and my boyfriend love to play poker and are voting yes from Pensacola, FL. by Kelly
Comment: We need all the jobs we can muster up!!! from Pensacola/Fl. by Chris
Comment: this is absolutely the worse idea i have hear in a long time...this place is infested with a disease called alcoholism and drug addiction...now people want to place gambling addiction into this area also? the jobs gained is not worth the weight of more broken families and homes...sighs! from p'cola fl by h
Comment: With the failing economy and lack of jobs in this area, I think creating more jobs is a positive. The County would also benifit from allowing card rooms because they would receive some revenue. All in all I say keep the money in Escambia County instead of it going to Atmore or Biloxi. from Pensacola, Fl by Sheila
Comment: Absolutely they should. It will help a track that is struggling to keep their doors open right now. Will help the area with new jobs and save the current jobs. The poker rooms have helped other struggling tracks in the state and will also generate more money for the state. from Pensacola,FL by John
Comment: Sure..... keep people out of the bars drinking.... from Pensacola, fl by Irene
Comment: I visit Pensacola quite often, it's a shame there is no poker! from Tampa, FL by Scott
Comment: Poker games are allowed at other greyhound tracks in Florida. My son is a licensed poker dealer. It'd be nice if he could work close to home. from Navarre, FL by Mort
Comment: By the way poker IS legal in Fla.,if pot is less than $10.Anyway, these "Pensacolians" that live here 5 or 10 years want to push thier moral superiority on others.Live and let live and work.Poker never hurt anyone!Don't judge me because you do not like what I do!I don't like a lot of things folks do ,but this is the USA.ANYMORE QUESTIONS? from robertsdale,al by mike
Comment: why is it that the government is the only intity allowed to legally accept profits from gambling in the state of florida??? (lottery, scratch offs, etc.) at least other types of gambling would bring profits, jobs, and economic growth to areas that desperately need it now. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! from pace by cathy
Comment: I think greyhound 'parks' should be outlawed. What they do to the dogs is barbaric.
Comment: play in pensacola or take the cash to ebro dog track from pace by don
Comment: I should be allowed...We have the lottery, bingo, etc which are all types of gambling so why not. It would help bring in money to the county as well as stimulate the job market. from Pensacola/Florida by Jeffrey
